There’s a lot of love for Vichy Dermablend out there. For those who don’t know, Dermablend is a collection that consists of a super-high coverage concealer and foundation, and was initially formulated for those with severe pigmentation issues such as rosecea, vitiligo, port-wine pigmentation and birthmarks. It was quickly adopted as a cover-all for other skin imperfections, including burns, scars and stubborn dark circles – its high performance, comfort, and skin-loving ingredients has solidified it as a cult product of sorts.
My absolute favourite product is the Dermablend Ultra Corrective Cream Stick, which is without doubt one of the most versatile products in my makeup bag. I’ve used it for all sorts of things, from covering appendix operation scars, to disguising black eyes, to covering tattoos up for friends with interviews and weddings to go to. When worn alone it lasts for ages, but with the accompanying Dermablend Setting Powder it goes the distance all the way to an incredible 16 hours. When I say it lasts, it really does – it resists sweat, bathing and rubbing, and only budges when you remove it with a cleanser. It’s the ultimate peace of mind for those who are conscious about a skin complaint.
For all of those who want to try Dermablend but are unsure about the colour or texture, Vichy have launched the Dermablend Starter Kit. The handy little sample pack contains 6 x 1g Dermablend Ultra Corrective Cream Stick trial sizes, in 6 different shades ranging from 11 Porcelain to 16 Bronze. If you’re between colours, the kit allows you to mix and match until you find your perfect match of shades. If you’re unsure about using make-up on an already sensitive area of skin, swatch this sample kit before taking the plunge.
