It’s just under a week until the new Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyeshadow launches at Escentual along with the rest of the Autumn makeup collection, and to celebrate I’ve been given the green light to show you some of the gorgeous new colours!
The gentle formulas are infused with minerals and come in a variety of finishes, from matte to satin, pearl to shimmer. Each of the sixteen colour-true shadows are suitable for even the most sensitive of eyes and are ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested. Here we swatch five of our favourites: 01 White Shimmer, 04 Golden Rose, 08 Taupe, 13 Dark Chocolate and 15 Black Sparkle.
Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyeshadow in 01 White Sparkle
01 White Sparkle is the ideal illuminator for your eyes. When swatched straight on to the skin, it is sheer and very shimmery, which makes it the ideal enhancer for your other eyeshadow colours. Apply on top of your other shadows for a sparkly, multilayered look, or apply wet for a perfectly creamy highlighting shade.
Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyeshadow in 05 Golden Rose
This neutral satin rose shade of 04 Golden Rose has a golden shift that looks beautiful when the light shines on it. When applied dry it gives a subtle wash of easy-to-wear pink, and when applied wet it becomes slightly darker and more opaque.
Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyeshadow in 08 Taupe
For a basic natural eye, 08 Taupe is a safe bet. The mid-toned mushroom hue is ideal for creating depth without being overpowering. Applied dry the shade is matte and subtle, applied wet the shade is deeper and has more of a purple shift.
Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyeshadow in 13 Dark Chocolate
The beautiful 13 Dark Chocolate shade is the most pigmented of all of the colours swatched. It shimmers with gold and bronze flecks that catch the light wonderfully, and it has a similarly intense effect no matter whether it is swatched wet or dry.
Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyeshadow in 15 Black Sparkle
For lining and defining the eyes, look no further than the intense 15 Black Sparkle, a velvety black shot through with silver sparkle. Apply dry for a smoked-out look, or wet for an opaque block of colour.

This review is specifically for the 01 - White Sparkle shade. It is a white sparkly shadow that is super versatile. - Use it by itself for a real striking shimmery look. - Use it wet for a more intense white look - Dab a bit on under another colour to make it more iridescent look - Use as an all-round highlighter - just below the brow to open up the eyes, or a little bit on the cheek bone for a dewy look Super product, that is worth the money because you can use it so many ways. I always keep it in my make-up bag.
