Get The Look – Dior Cherie Bow Spring 2013 Makeup Collection Preview

Dior Cherie Bow Spring Look

We’ve gone through the beauty spectrum in the past couple of weeks: from the gothic vampiness of our 1920s art deco look, through to the glitzy smokiness of our party look. We’re banishing dark colours this week and welcoming in the newer, fresher shades of spring, which are perfect for daytime wear.

With the help of regional Dior makeup artist Carrie, our designer Gem was given the Dior Cherie Bow Look treatment: a fun-filled, couture soft pink, inky black and a flawless complexion. The Cherie Bow Spring Makeup Collection launches on the 18th January, in the mean time, enjoy feast your eyes on some of the limited edition below…

Step 1: Create a fresh and flawless base.

Gem has great skin, but Carrie wanted to create an ultra flawless look for spring. She used the Diorskin Nude Foundation paired with the Diorskin Nude Powder Makeup, which gave full coverage that still looked soft and glowing.

Step 2: Apply a base pink all over the lid.

Using the soon-to-be-released new Dior Twin Set in 840 Ballerina Pink, Carrie coloured Gem’s lid from the crease downward with the creamy pencil end, and then dabbed the iridescent pink at the other end all over the lid.

Step 3: Line the eyes with a mini flick.

Carrie then toned down the girliness of the pink a little with a bold black line along the upper lid, together with a mini flick to add a bit more of an edge. Pull the lid tight to prevent snagging your colour, and create a cleaner line.

Step 4: Apply a touch of concealer.

A bold eye like this needs a brighten undereye to keep the look fresh. Carrie dabbed some Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Concealer in 001 Ivory beneath the eye, which also created an ideal primer for the next step.

Step 5: Dab on some silver.

Carrie created a silver shade by mixing two shadows from the soon-to-be-released Dior 5 Couleurs Palette in 724 Rose Ballerine, a metallic white and a dark dove grey. She applied this all along the lower lashline to add subtle definition.

Step 6: Apply lashings of mascara.

Carrie softened the starkness of the bold black liner by brushing the kohl-like Diorshow Blackout Mascara through Gem’s eyelashes. This created a soft, sooty fringe of lashes that suited the look really nicely.

Step 7: Finish with a pop of raspberry pink lipstick.

The idea of pink on pink might seem a little scary, but it balances this look impeccably. Carrie pushed the pigment-rich Rouge Dior Nude Lipstick in 663 Guipure into the lips with the Dior Backstage Lip Brush for a stain-like effect that lasts.
