Clarins has knocked it out of the park with this year’s autumn collection, Graphic Expression. Made up of on trend metallic colours for eyes and deep shades for lips, it’s a brilliant ode to the A/W13 runway in very wearable textures.
Today I wanted to shift focus slightly to a limited edition product in the collection, one that I think will pique a lot of interest due to its sheer versatility: the Clarins Face & Blush Powder. This multi-striped, embossed powder is created to add radiance to the complexion, with a touch of colour for the cheeks.
As is to be expected, the luxury factor is very much there! Housed in the signature Clarins golden compact complete with mirror for on-the-go touch ups, the Face & Blush Powder also arrives wrapped in crimson Clarins pouch to stop it from getting scratched and damaged. It’s even delicately scented with that faintly fruity aroma also found in the Clarins Skin Illusion foundation.
Made up of three shades which suit most skin tones, the powder brightens with light, peachy beige, balances with warmer, darker beige, and adds a healthy flush of colour with rosy pink. The band of gold that you see is just an overlay which can be swept away quite easily if you’re not a fan of shimmer. Alternatively, you can swirl it into the rest of the colours in the palette to create a subtle sheen.
On the skin, the Graphic Expression Face & Blush Powder is the ideal finishing touch. It bestows a flattering healthy glow with a satin-matte finish, while the subtle golden glints in the pretty pink blush perks up a dull complexion very nicely. Sweep all over the face with a large, fluffy brush to minimise fine lines and pores, prolong your make-up and illuminate the complexion in one step.
