For many of us the realisation that summer is fast approaching is enough to make us cut out the sugar from our tea, hide the sweet treats and chuck on our running trainers and get out the door. The warmer weather and lighter evenings have come around rather fast and if you’re like me, you’re not feeling very prepared for swimsuits, shorts and sandy beaches. But, before you run and put a lock on the treat cupboard or throw away that Ben and Jerry’s tub you’ve been saving I may have found the perfect solution.

DKNY’s new Delicious Delights collection presents the sweet scents I’ve been waiting for: a cocktail of whipped frozen treats, sweet sprinkled toppings and delicious sorbet. You can’t deny that this concoction sounds good enough to eat, bursting with flavour and inspired by refreshing sorbet treats, and more importantly a delicious delight that I won’t feel one ounce of guilt for indulging in.  The limited edition fragrances come in three varieties, Dreamsicle, Cool Swirl and Fruity Rooty, each evoking the deliciously mouth-watering taste of sorbet and encapsulating spring/summer in a single spritz.

Dreamsicle

Top Notes:  Mandarin Orange, Raspberry, Blueberry.
Heart Notes: Green Apple, Peach Nectar, Apricot Sorbet.
Base Notes: Cedarwood, Sandalwood.

How does it smell?
Dreamsicle is just that, a dream. Of the three new fragrances this one has stolen my heart. It’s sweet yet subtle and it’s perfect for someone that wants scintillating sweetness without it being sickly or overpowering (who said we can’t have our cake and eat it too, eh?). The fragrance is composed like a refreshing smoothie, and it left a haze of juicy fragrance on my skin. Am I making your mouth water yet?

The peach and apricot notes float to the top of this perfume, and throughout the day you’ll be reminded just how delicious this fragrance is as you get hints of both. My search for the perfect spring fragrance has been stopped right in its tracks and I think I’ve found the one. The downside to a fragrance so delicious? No, I can’t think of one either…

Cool Swirl

Top Notes: Blackcurrant, Violet, Coconut water.
Heart Notes:  Magnolia, Jasmine, Pistachio Sorbet.
Base Notes:  Heliotrope, Musk, Patchouli.

How does it smell?
From the first spritz of Cool Swirl I was back on the beach, a cocktail in hand and the sand was in-between my toes.  The exotic aroma of this fragrance is the ultimate indulgence if like me, you’re counting down the days until your next sunny getaway. Blackberry, violet leaves and mouth-watering coconut water all blend together in a concoction that I’m already packing in my virtual suitcase. I love finding new fragrances for holidays, fragrances that I know will, when I’m back in the cold rainy weather will remind me of sun, sea and maybe one or two pina colada’s, this scent will definitely do just that.

But, DKNY didn’t stop there at just delicious, they deepened the aroma with additions like musk and patchouli creating a more sophisticated, mature twist to a traditional fruity fragrance. This finishing touch really seals the deal for me, it’s addictive and would be perfect for day or night.

Fruity Rooty

Top Notes: Blackberry, Mandarin, Blackcurrant
Heart Notes: Apple Sorbet, Rose Petals, Rose Buds
Base Notes:  Orris, Vanilla, Musk

How does it smell?
If you’re craving something sweet then you’ve found in Fruity Rooty‘s floral-fruity combo. I envision this perfume as the perfect first date fragrance, hypnotic, alluring and of course irresistibly delicious. This one’s definitely for someone with the ultimate sweet-tooth, and what better way to please it than with perfume over some Percy Pigs?

I don’t think I could ever get tired of this fragrance, it’s so refreshing and smells good enough to eat (hypothetically speaking of course). It’s one of those fragrances you know people will stop and ask questions about, you can’t ignore it, it’s vivid and vibrant and there’s something really sparkling about it.
