Caudalie Mask Line-Up 2

Re-Branded Signature (Emma) copy

Customisation is one of life’s little joys. Mixing and matching, personalisation, cocktailing… I can’t even walk past a pick ‘n’ mix stand without stopping. The ability to bring different elements together to create something that works for you is a powerful thing, which is why this new release from Caudalie is particularly exciting.

The Caudalie Mask Collection is a treasure trove of skincare treatment possibility; the edited range of 4 supercharged masks is inspired by their spa heritage, which dictates that you should highly tailor your treatment to the specific needs of each area of the face. As such, each mask combines powerful active ingredients with indulgent textures, and are formulated to target specific skincare concerns. The Moisturizing Mask intensely soothes; the Glycolic Peel Mask improves radiance; the Instant Detox Mask detoxifies and cleanses the skin; and the Purifying Mask promotes clearer skin with fewer blemishes.

If you think that you’ve seen some of these masks before, you’re absolutely right: all but the Instant Detox Mask have previously been part of Caudalie’s skincare lineup. This relaunch means a brand new look and a larger size, so you get even more of your favourite formula!

Take a look at this guide, and find your perfect cocktail…

Caudalie Mask Line-UpCaudalie Moisturizing Mask

Moisturizing Mask

SOS Comfort

The formula of the classic Caudalie Moisturizing Mask remains the same as before, but it’s presented in a larger format with a brand new look.

What’s it all about? I think this mask is an absolute essential. The ultra creamy, soothing formula provides a big kick of hydration thanks to an infusion of hyaluronic acid, known for its ability to retain water and plump out the skin, while a combination of Vinolevure® (which rich in beta-glucans to reduce reactivity), and ultra-moisturising grapeseed oil (rich in repairing and nourishing omega 6), make sure that your parched complexion is supple, smooth and just really, really soft.

Whereas others may suffer with an oily T-zone, my forehead and nose are always invariably, uncomfortably dry, so I’ve been using this mask religiously. If you have dry or reactive skin, you’ll know that it can often feel rough and almost sore to the touch – after using this mask, my skin always feels more plump and resilient, as though it’s been given a big drink of water and wrapped in a protective bubble. And the best news of all? You see results after the very first use.

How to use it: Apply in a thick layer and leave for 10 minutes before wiping away any excess.

Top tip: If skin is particularly dry, apply in a thick layer and leave on overnight. It works a treat.

Caudalie Glycolic Peel Mask

Glycolic Peel Mask

The Radiance Revealer

Formerly known as the Enzymatic Peel Mask, the Caudalie Glycolic Peel Mask has been repackaged and presented in a larger format for all women in search of a boost of radiance.

What’s it all about? Perfect for all those who want brighter and more even skin, this surprisingly creamy mask kickstarts cellular renewal with exfoliating glycolic acid and papaya extract, whilst also moisturising skin with a blend of grape seed oil and emollients.

After the exfoliation agents do their thing removing dulling dead skin cells, Caudalie’s star ingredient Viniferine (said to be up to 62 times more effective than Vitamin C) sets to work brightening, evening out and illuminating your complexion. Unlike some other biological exfoliants, Glycolic Peel never feels tingly or irritating – it’s a really great choice for those with sensitive skin who want to break into results-driven skincare.

How to use it: Apply in a thick layer avoiding the eye area, and leave for 10 minutes. Rinse away gently.

Top tip: This fruit-based exfoliating peel can also be used on your hands, decollete and all other highly exposed areas to brighten and even out the skin.

Caudalie Instant Detox Mask

Instant Detox Mask

Renewing and refining

Brand new to the range is the Caudalie Instant Detox Mask, a 99% natural renewing and refining mask suitable for all skin types that need some added pep.

What’s it all about? Does your skin feel congested, lacklustre and just a bit… off? Then you need this clay-based mask, which will restore some much needed balance with antioxidant grape marc and biologically exfoliating papaya enzymes. When used once or twice a week Instant Detox will work to draw out impurities and tighten up your pores, and it generally makes everything feel a lot fresher and brighter.

The texture of this mask was a revelation for me. It’s a clay mask, sure – but set aside thoughts of those thick, crackly formulas you’ve used in the past, because this is something entirely different. Instant Detox is initially dispensed as a gel-cream, sort of like a foundation, to help with application. Apply a fine layer over your face and that creaminess transforms into a semi-flexible, matte mask that feels reassuringly snug. You can almost feel those pores being whipped into shape!

How to use it: Rinse away after 10 minutes (I use a washi cloth for some added mild exfoliation), and your skin looks so fresh and smooth.

Top tip: Use this one as a quick fix before a night out.

Caudalie Purifying Mask

Purifying Mask

Clarity for the imperfection-prone

Another repackaged mask, the Caudalie Purifying Mask is now available in a bigger size for those normal/combination/oily skin types who struggle with blemishes.

What’s it all about? Supercharged with absorbent and regulating active ingredients, this is the mask that will cleanse your skin deep down. It’s raison d’etre is to provide balance for blemish-prone complexions, ensuring purity and clarity with every use. If you have problematic skin, this is the one for you.

The power behind this mask is provided by a combination of two natural clays, bentonite and kaolin, which absorb excess oil, decongest your skin and soothe flare-ups. Added anti-blemish treatment is provided by zinc and flax seeds, which are known to regulate the production of sebum, while a combination of 8 essential oils including lavender and camomile purify the skin. Like the Instant Detox Mask, the Purifying Mask has a beautiful creamy texture that dries to a matte finish on the skin. You can actually see this one working – after a few minutes, the mask will become ‘dotty’ as your pores drink it in!

How to use it: You can apply this one all over if you have particularly oily skin, or just to the T-zone, which is how I like to use it. Wait for 10 minutes or so and then rinse away.

Top tip: This mask is fantastic for cocktailing with the Moisturizing Mask if you have combination skin. Dot it onto localised areas as you need it.
