Escentual Beauty Team Favourites - February 2017

Emma

Acqua di Parma Peonia Nobile Purse Spray
Acqua di Parma’s beautiful soliflore range is so worth checking out. My favourite, though, has to be last year’s Peonia Nobile. The fragrance effortlessly captures the plush, full-bodied beauty of a peony in bloom, with a dash of sharp yet juicy raspberry and a base of glowing amber. This brand new purse spray hand-wrapped in hot pink leather gives the gorgeous fragrance an even more beautiful aesthetic.

Bioderma Sensibio Mild Cleansing Foaming Gel
I’m late to the game with the Bioderma Sensibio Mild Cleansing Foaming Gel. I automatically assumed that my sensitive, dry skin wouldn’t be able to hack a foam cleanser… but how wrong I was! The first clue as to how gentle the Mild Cleansing Foaming Gel is lies in its base; there’s not a trace of soap here. It’s also loaded up with moisturising ingredients to keep skin feeling fresh, not tight, and it leaves my complexion feeling so incredibly soft after use. This unassuming product has provoked a mini revolution in my usual cleansing routine!

DHC Quick Film Smoother
This new product from DHC is another surprise for me this month. I’m not really its target market; this is an anti-ageing moisturiser. While I’m not quite there yet in terms of wrinkles, I’m very much in need of ‘quick fix’ perfecting products at the moment; I’m getting married midway through March, so anything that promises to smooth and firm the skin in preparation for lots of picture taking is a must-try in my book! I apply the Quick Film Smoother after my moisturiser and before my foundation as a primer, and it instantly boosts moisture and smooths out minor imperfections in my skin.

bareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo
Both of my powder prayers have been answered with this handy compact! The perfect fit for my makeup bag, it’s split into two sections for complicated skin types like mine. You get a matte section for to set your makeup and remove shine. Secondly, you have a gorgeous, subtle highlighting shade that’s ideal for when you want to get your glow on, which, for me, is pretty much every day.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil
Obsessed with oils? Me too! At the moment, this All-Over Miracle Oil is keeping my hair looking healthy, my body feeling smooth and, my complexion looking radiant. My skin loves a weekly dose of this oil at night for a speedy repair. If you’re looking for a complete all rounder that saves you time, the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil is just what you need.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Kiss Eau de Toilette
Do you blame me? This bottle is too beautiful to not make it into my February favourites! With a scent that’s equally as good as it looks, Daisy Dream Kiss is sitting so pretty on my desk right now. It’s such a shame it’s a limited edition, but hey, I’m already looking forward to seeing what Daisy design Marc Jacobs brings out next, as they never disappoint!

DHC Gel Pencil Eyeliner
The DHC Liquid Eyeliner is one of my all-time favourites, so it was a given that I’d want to get my hands on this new release (DHC Gel Pencil Eyeliner)! After putting it to the test last week I can say with confidence that its claims to be smudge proof are on point! I now plan to adorn a cat-flick until further notice…

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria Eau de Toilette
I’ll admit, there hasn’t been a Guerlain Aqua Allegoria fragrance launch that I haven’t loved, so I had high hopes for this scent. And, unsurprisingly I adore the aroma of Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria (sorry it’s not the exciting twist you’d hoped for), it’s just what I want on the run up to spring. A musky green citrus perfume with an energetic, happy  persona, it’s the perfect thing to wear on a crisp sunny day.

Darphin Intral Environmental Lightweight Shield SPF50
This month I made it my mission to start protecting my skin from pollution (about time I know).  Why now I hear you ask? Well, upon writing about this nifty new release from Darphin a few weeks ago I realised just how much my skin is affected by UVA/UVB rays and pollution on a daily basis, and I thought ‘no more’! Super lightweight and hydrating, this refreshing fluid is undetectable on the skin and helps to keep skin smooth and radiant – for me, it’s a win win!
