Christian Dior Midnight Poison Eau de Parfum Spray and
Giftwrapped Box.
Created by Francois Demachy, perfumer-creator for Dior, Midnight
Poison was composed with a captivating yet elusive seductress in
mind.
Its singular signature is that of the queen of flowers, the
rose, but a black and mysterious one set against a backdrop of
patchouli and the aphrodisiac effects of amber.
In its wake lies a metamorphosis of extraordinary
sensuality.
Floral Oriental A new Cinderella is born.
Top Note
DAMASCENA ROSE: Native to Turkey and Bulgaria, Damascena rose is
used in the form of both essence and absolute.
This mainstay of the perfumers palette can be found in the heart
notes of Midnight Poison, Jadore extract and Eau de Dolce Vita.
Heart Note
PATCHOULI: Patchouli is a plant native to Indonesia and
Malaysia.
Indispensable to any perfumer, patchouli essence is obtained by
steam distillation of the dried leaves.
It is to be found in chypre, woody and oriental fragrances.
This valued ingredient forms the dry-down of Miss Dior, Eau
Fraiche, Dioressence, Eau de Dolce Vita, and the heart notes of
Midnight Poison.
Base Note
AMBER: This animal-derived ingredient lends depth and sensuality
to fragrance.
So rare was this precious substance that it cost its weight in
gold.
The amber note is now used in both mens and womens compositions,
and it forms the mysterious facet of the dry-down of Midnight
Poison.
