Why You’ll Love GUERLAIN Vetiver Eau de Toilette:

What Does GUERLAIN Vetiver Eau de Toilette Smell Like?

The citrusy opening of orange, bergamot and lemon gives Vetiver energy. It becomes fresh and spicey in the heart thanks to nutmeg and a sprinkle of invigorating pepper. The energising pepper continues until the end of the fragrance, setting the foreground for the star note of grassy vetiver mixed with smoking tobacco and creamy tonka bean.

Top notes are Orange, bergamot, lemon. Heart notes are Nutmeg, Pepper. Base notes are Vetiver, Tobacco, Tonka Bean.

Why It’s Escentual:

Created in the 1950s, GUERLAIN Vetiver Eau de Toilette is a timeless fragrance that has captured the hearts of many over decades. GUERLAIN delved into the vetiver note's earthy sun-soaked grassy quality, giving it a sophisticated elegance thanks to an infusion of a woody accord, spice and tobacco. Inspired by a grassy moor at dawn, GUERLAIN replicates the earthy scent of dewy grass as the sun rises.

You may have noticed that the classic men's fragrance bottle has changed. The Eau de Toilette has the same fresh spicey aroma you love, but it looks different. Vetiver is bottled in a new square glass flacon with refined lines to match GUERLAIN's style, capped with a metal black lid with luxury guilloche detailing taken used in the craft of watchmaking.

The Best Way To Use It:

Spray onto your pulse points - wrists and neck.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A classic I'm quite new to vetiver frangrances but wanted to create a capsule collection of classics. The appeal to me was that this fragrance has stood the test of time. I like its fresh feel and although quite quiet the vetiver does emerge and lasts well although it is quite muted. I think that is a plus especially if worn in the daytime. An unexpected plus was that it smells equally good on my partner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic, timeless, elegant masculinity A fresh lemon opening followed by the most gorgeous vetiver and tobacco middle. This dries down to a pepper and nutmeg base; lovely, lovely, lovely. This has been around for over 50 years now and has more than stood the test of time. Great longevity and above average projection, this just smells clean, fresh, spicy and timeless; love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another timeless classic This scent is not to be judged purely on its scent. What do I mean? Well, you'll need to understand a bit about modern fragrance history to appreciate this one - it was grounbreaking for its time and brought a whole new dimension to scents. Guerlain wanted to capture the scent of the earth after the summer rain and was inspired by nature when he set out to create his first ever scent - Vetiver. A grass or root that grows under the ground, the scent of vetiver is spicy and of course earthy. This fragrance is all of that but cleverly wrapped up in citrus and highlighted with notes of tobacco. But this isn't a smoky scent and hence can be appreciated in the warmer months or in wet weather. It fits the inspiration behind it perfectly and is venerated by many as a true classic.
