Gives off the basenote of the original.. I have this and the original YSL L'Homme. The La Nuit de l'Homme gives off the basenote of the original "straight off the bat". I'm looking forward to sporting this fragrance in the darkest depths of this coming winter. You won't be dissapointed by this, it's of high quality. September 19, 2012

The Ultimate evening fragrance Even the semi smoked bottle oozes quality from this YSL gem. This is the ultimate evening scent for men. Even when I'm not wearing this, I sniff the bottle cap to remind me just how nice this smells. For me this is YSL's masterpiece and beats the others in the range. Its a hard scent to describe but its fresh with woods and spice. Its suitable for 20yrs+, the reason being its more refined and older men should get a bottle as to me this is the older mans 'One Million'. Its an evening/night scent that the ladies seem to love. If I had to choose between this and the new Libre, this wins easily for me. October 18, 2011

Sensual Fragrance I was wearing YSL's L'Homme for approximately 6 months before this fragrance came out. I was passing through a shopping center department store and decided to give La Nuit a try. This fragrance appealed to me much more than L'Homme. It's "softer" whereas L'Homme has an edge to it - there's almost an offensive "sting" to L'Homme, at least to my nose. La Nuit is a rich and deep fragrance that, when first sprayed, smells quite feminine to me. But, after it settles on my skin, the "masculine" part of this cologne takes over. It lasts quite a while (a good 8 hrs of coverage) and seems to get better throughout the evening. This is my go-to nighttime fragrance. August 24, 2011
