Leading anti-ageing pharmacy brand Caudalie was created in 1995 by husband and wife team Matilde and Bertrand Thomas.
Matilde wanted to formulate effective beauty products that didn’t compromise on natural, ethical formulations and luxurious textures. The antioxidant and nutritive power of the grape vine inspired her to create a range that harnessed their capabilities, and along with Dr Vercauteren, a vine specialist from the University of Pharmacy of Bordeaux, Matilde set about researching the “treasure” of grape polyphenols. From this unique friendship, Caudalie was born.
The extraordinary power of the vine influences absolutely everything that Caudalie does – even their name stems from a unit of measurement for tasting wine! As is to be expected, each product is infused with a specific aspect of the vine: from grape water, which is rich in polysaccharides and oglio-elements, to viniferine, which works to clarify the complexion and battle pigmentation. With rich cocktails of vitamins, antioxidants, and patented innovations, Caudalie is a hidden gem. Its innovation and efficacy is supported by a maximum amount of natural ingredients that are biodegradable, paraben-free, mineral oil-free, synthetic colorant-free, and are definitely not tested on animals.
