This Week’s Beauty Hits and Misses

Old School Glamour

Blake Lively looked absolutely breathtaking this week in a strapless Zuhair Murad dress – but we were most taken with her gorgeous, sideswept locks.  The side parting and peek-a-boo curtain of hair was very Veronica Lake-esque – a definite beauty moment.

Viva Forever

16 years to the day after the release of their debut song Wannabe, the Spice Girls lined up once more on the steps of the St Pancras Hotel to launch their new musical Viva Forever. Penned by Jennifer Saunders, the stage show opens in the West End in December.

New Addiction

We’re loving the new-look Dior Addict fragrance family this week, especially the launch of the epic Addict film starring Daphne Groeneveld.

Festival Envy

We were experiencing some serious festival envy this week after missing out on the Radio 1 Hackney Weekender and the Isle of Wight festival. Saying that, we’re glad we got to catch Rihanna’s performance – what a woman!

Summer Blues

After such a promising start last month, this summer has officially been branded a wash-out. We’re pretending we’re in sunnier climes with the perky scent of the Roger & Gallet Bois d’Orange Eau Sublime Or, which also adds some subtle shimmer to the body.

Dyed Doggies

Emma Watson stepped out this week with a friend’s dog that has been dip-dyed to raise money for charity. While the dye has been described as harmless and vegetable-based, we’re not the biggest fans of colouring pets with unnatural hues.
