If you’re looking for a bold, comfortable lip colour that will really go the distance this autumn, look no further than the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. I’ve been on a bit of a lip stain kick after discovering the Guerlain Rouge G L’Instant and the bareMinerals Pretty Amazing Lip Colour,  so the launch of this creamy matte-effect liquid colour couldn’t have come at a better time.

The Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick is long-lasting by name, and definitely long-lasting by nature. It adheres to your skin with its full-coverage texture and provides bright and even colour for hours. Even when the creamy-matte texture fades away, your lips are subtly stained with colour for a few hours more. To take off, simply use an oil-based skincare product such as the Clarins One-Step Facial Cleanser which will lift the pigment away.

The application is effortless – simply trace the outline of the lips with the plush doe foot applicator before filling in the rest of the lips. If I want full impact, I use the applicator straight from the barrel. If I want something a little more subtle, I dot a little colour onto my lips and then smudge it for a bitten effect.

I chose to take a closer look at Carina, an ultra-vivid coral red that is just the thing to perk me up after all of this dull weather. The swatch above shows only a fraction of the brightness – in person it’s almost neon! The wear is very comfortable thanks to the creaminess of the formula, and it dries very quickly resulting in the matte effect above. If I apply it before work in the morning, it lasts until around 3pm with little wear. When it does wear, it tends to fade evenly which is a massive bonus for such a bright colour – you avoid the dreaded ‘lipliner’ effect!

All in all, I love this colour. Bright, fun and surprisingly wearable day to day, with a formula that you can rely upon to last.
