Wrightaboutbeauty’s Review of Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning

Having read many reviews on this I though I’d give it a go myself. I’m not usually one for face tanners incase the dreaded streakiness occurs and that can’t be covered up so easily, However along came this product and after my first use (I applied after my skincare routine at night) I found I woke to a lovely healthy looking glow. Not in your face tantastic but certainly does what it says on the tin.

I would definitely recommend this product, one thing to watch out for is to always wash your hands after applying as can leave fingers stained and that’s with using cotton wool.

I used to have a fair complexion that has turned rosy over the years and this stuff is really helping to bring the colour down! I thought it has been working so well that I decided to try it on the thread veins on my legs, seems to be helping. Only been using it two weeks but it made a difference within a few days. I am using it with the face wash and the moisturiser alongside other face products and it really is working. Definitely worth the money and a try if you suffer from high colouring.

This product is everything that I have been looking for in a sun cream. I have extremely pale and fairly sensitive skin, and my major skincare concerns are (1) protecting my skin from the sun to prevent ageing, (2) preventing sunburn on hot days and (3) preventing breakouts from clogged skin. So many sun creams smell very strong, so many leave the skin too greasy or shiny (or, worse, a deathly pale white colour) and not enough sun creams have a high, full spectrum SPF that prevents against UVA and UVB. This cream does everything: it’s paraben-free and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin, it smells relatively normal, it doesn’t leave my skin greasy or overly white (it rubs in almost instantly and is amazingly matte and clear), and, most importantly, it has a very high SPF protection. I wear this on my body and carry the dinky little tube in my bag wherever I go, and twin with daily application of Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen SPF 40 (absolutely brilliant and also available at Escentual!) on my face. I cannot recommend enough.

 

Baker‘s review of the  Mason/Pearson Bristle/Nylon Pocket BN4

I bought this Mason Pearson hairbrush on the recommendation of my cousin who also told me that our Grandma used to use this sort of hairbrush!

It is the smaller hairbrush, easy to handle and brushes through my hair so easily, I do have rather fine hair of medium length, I also suffer from psoriasis of the scalp.

I brush my hair every time I go into the bathroom and I now find after using it for about 3 weeks that I do not need to be washing my hair as often as before and I am sure my psoriasis is not as bad as it was…hopefully that is improving now with all this scalp stimulation.

KookyMeow‘s review of  the Guerlain Rouge G De Guerlain L’Extrait

Guerlain does it again – another wonderful and luxurious product worthy of the price.

I prefer solid lipsticks, but this product made a believer out of me. When I saw the swatches on Escentual’s Beauty Buzz blog, I immediately fell in love with Avarice and Gourmandise.

I am a warm olive (I wear Diorskin Nude in 040 for reference), and these 2 colours look great. Gourmandise turned out to be a fun but wearable shade of pink – just in time for spring/summer.

The formula, as expected, is divine. The liquid wasn’t goopy nor sticky, it was just the right consistency. It glides on smooth, and easy to spread with more precision without having to use a lip brush. It dries to a beautiful matte, satiny finish. I don’t feel any tugging when I purse my lips, it’s as if I am wearing regular lipstick.

The case is quite hefty and heavy, which is the trademark of the Rouge G series. Opening it takes a bit of getting used to, as well as a light hand – I’ve read of some women who broke the screw and are no longer able to close it properly.

As with all matte lipsticks, the key to making it look good on your lips is to make sure that it is prepped and moisturised.

I love it so much that I am already thinking of the next shade to buy.
