Imperfections can often feel like an inevitability. Whether they’re minor concerns like dark circles, medium concerns like pigmentation, or more apparent concerns like vitiligo, they’re a key part of your skin’s makeup that you’d sometimes wish, well… weren’t.
Sometimes you just want to make your complexion a little more uniform to tone down the uneven pigmentation. And other times, you’ll want your base to work a little harder.
The Vichy Dermablend range is a core collection of skin perfectors and camouflage make-up products which provide full, natural-looking coverage quickly and easily. If you have minor to medium imperfections and are looking for a full-coverage finish, then the Vichy Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation is your perfect fit.
The foundation offers 24 hour hydration, 16 hour hold and is formulated with a 25% pigment concentration. That’s 2-3 times more coverage than that of a normal foundation, and yet it looks completely natural. Soft focus powders help to blur away imperfections and provide a more even complexion, while supple plant oils guarantee a lightweight texture. The Dermablend Corrective Foundation is entirely suitable for all skin types thanks to its matte yet hydrating finish, though oily skins should finish up with a dusting of powder to prolong wear.
I swatched each of the five available shades very heavily here to give you an idea of its surprising silky consistency, which is at odds with its level of pigmentation.
It’s pretty important to choose the right shade with this particular formula. It’s harder to get away with using a darker tone than that of your complexion (unless you’re a blending Jedi)! Dermablend is full coverage and pigment-packed, so it could look mask-like if there’s a sharp contrast between your neck and your face. There’s also a danger of your complexion looking quite flat as the foundation does a phenomenal job of smoothing out all flaws. A touch of bronzer or blusher sorts this out very nicely, though.
Blended out, you can see the satin/matte finish more clearly. It’s definitely full coverage, but the consistency is thin enough for the skin to still look entirely natural. It’s a little like Photoshop in a tube!
15 Opal is very fair and neutral-to-yellow toned -if you normally wear a fairer shade and are unsure whether to pick Opal or Nude, then go for this one
25 Nude is a fair to medium shade with beige undertones
35 Sand is a warm medium shade
45 Gold is darker still, and a fraction more warm than Sand
55 Bronze is a warm, pink-toned medium-to-dark shade
