You can always count on Marc Jacobs to produce a statement of a fragrance and with Decadence, he’s pulled out all the stops. The fragrance and its accompanying bottle are more high fashion and opulent than what we’ve seen previously from the King of offbeat glamour, but you’ll be pleased to hear that Decadence is full of signature witty charm.
Every facet of Decadence tells the story of excess, from the plum, saffron and amber juice to the weighty emerald glass of the bottle (complete with gold hardware and python print cap, no less). It’s a bit of a charmer, this one – existing of Marc Jacobs will appreciate its unexpectedly grown-up vibes, while the scent will undoubtedly attract a whole new audience to Marc’s dreamy world.

8) Narciso Rodriguez L’Absolu
The newest entry in Narciso Rodriguez’s fragrant wardrobe is L’Absolu, a luxurious composition that takes Narciso’s signature statuesque, minimalist style to a new level. Where the original For Her fragrance focussed on translucent florals and musk, this new chapter is more overtly sensuous, introducing notes that offer more light and shade.

Valentino’s new pillar Donna is a complete scene-stealer, but it does so in the most understated way (as all true stars do). My favourite new launch of the season, Donna takes the mini trend for chypre fragrance and frames it in a couture way, with delicious leather and iris for a more austere, powdery effect.
The result is the sort of fragrance that won’t necessarily make the sort of instant impact that showy fruits and florals make, but it will rather linger with a mesmerising trail long after you’ve left the room. The sillage is beautiful on this one.
