Beauty Team Favourites – July 2018

July, you’ve definitely brought the heat, and we’re not about just talking the weather…

If you’ve been catching up with our social media, you may have seen a sneak peek of what’s to come, but for those with fresh eyes that are dipping in to see what’s made our July hot-list, you won’t be disappointed, especially when you see our latest exclusive (clue: it’s about to change your makeup routine tenfold).

So, if you still haven’t found your perfect lipstick, or if you’re fed up with your current fragrance, you’ve come to the right place. Here are this month’s Beauty Team Favourites…

Speciality: Blush, blush and more blush. Whether you’re more cream or powder, I’ve got all the recommendations you need!

This month, my two favourite products have one really special thing in common – they’ll effortlessly take you from day to night without a hitch. Wear a light veil in the day, then layer them up at night for instant oomph.

#1 The Trending Fragrance

Emma Holding DKNY Stories Eau de Parfum

DKNY Stories

Sultry, creamy and almost-gourmand is the mini fragrance trend to be aware of this season (prepare to see even more launching in the next few weeks!). Leading the charge is DKNY Stories, a cosy ode to vanilla that’s accentuated by the velvetiness of black iris and grey amber, and the juiciness of an emblematic pink guava mousse accord.

It’s sweet, but not overly so; Stories is the sort of scent that strikes the perfect balance between polish and playfulness. Wear it to the office, and let it seamlessly take you from your desk to the cocktail bar.

#2 The New Lip Texture

Make Up For Ever Lip Blush in 201 Blushing Rose

Artist Lip Blush is one of my favourite launches of the year so far – its format, texture and colours couldn’t be more perfect for my lip preferences! The chunky pencil offers all of the benefits of a matte lipstick without the heavy or dry feel, instead, providing a veil of blushing, weightless colour that lasts and lasts.

I have two favourites – 201 Blushing Rose and 300 Powdery Coral – but I’d happily wear any one of the complexion-enlivening shades in the collection. Try it and fall in love – it’s exclusive to Escentual, so you won’t find it anywhere else! See all the swatches here.

Speciality: I’m like a magpie when it comes to finding the best highlighters.

You know that feeling you get when you see something really special? Your temperature rises, your act all goofy and you try your best to stop staring, but you just can’t help it. Well, that’s exactly how I felt when I found my favourites for this edit. Can you tell I’m in the right job?

#1 The Only Way To Glow

DIOR Diorskin Nude Luminizing Shimmering Glow Powder in 02 Pink Glow

As highlighters come, the new Diorskin Nude Luminizers are up there with the best of them.  A little secret about me is, before I worked for Escentual, I became a DIOR highlighter collector, so there was no way I could be without this beauty.

There’s something oh-so-special about this highlighter’s delicate sheen and its exclusive packaging. It’s become my everyday piece of luxury that never fails to make me feel special. I’ve taken a special penchant to 02 – Pink Glow, but warmer skin tones may prefer 03 Golden Glow or 04 Bronze Glow – however, they’re all close to perfect in my eyes.

#2 The Only Flanker You Need To Try

AURA MUGLER Eau de Toilette Spray

Mugler fans, the new Aura EDT does not disappoint. In fact, I might as well just come out and say it. I prefer this to the original (bold!). If you’re new to Aura’s wild, almost medicinal side, you’ll love this lighter interpretation as it’s much fruitier but it’s still strong. Its rhubarb-like smell is perfect for those that love something warm and feminine to wear during the hotter weather. Plus, can we talk about that bottle? The whole package is incredible!

Speciality: When it comes to tracking down the best red-orange lipsticks, I’m your girl.

One of the many great things about writing for the Escentual blog is getting the chance to discover so many amazing products. This month, I was fortunate enough to review two amazing new launches that have fast become my new holy grails.

#1 The Essential Colour For Summer

Clarins Joli Rouge Velvet in 761V – Spicy Chilli

I’m addicted to red-orange lipsticks. There I said it! I don’t know what it is but there’s nothing I love more than sporting a fiery lip colour, and this month I found a new one to love: 761V – Spicy Chilli. A part of Clarins’ new Joli Rouge Velvet collection, I found this gem when swatching the entire range (see that edit here).

#2 The Fragrance That Smells As Good As It Looks

Blog- Ceryn Spraying Nina Ricci Bella Eau de Toilette Spray

Nina Ricci Bella Eau de Toilette Spray

It almost seems silly to explain why Bella is one my favourites this month. I mean, have you seen that bottle? It’s beautiful! But vanity aside, Bella is far more than just a pretty face, the juice is delicious. Everything you could want for summer and more, Bella’s rhubarb facets are mixed with vanilla and musk to offer up a scent equal weight sexy and sweet. Intrigued? You can read my full review here.
