Inside Ceryn’s Makeup Bag

When it comes to makeup, I’m nosy. I want to know what you use, how you use it and why you think I should be too. That’s probably why I love nothing more than rifling through my friends’ (and anyone who’ll let me) makeup bags. In my opinion, there’s no better way to discover beauty than from a recommendation!

But for this blog post, the tables are turning. The raider becomes the raided as I unzip my makeup bag and share its contents with you! And believe me when I say that what’s inside doesn’t disappoint; only the best make it in…

Clarins Skin Illusion Natural Hydrating Foundation SPF15

Your Skin But Better

Clarins Skin Illusion Natural Hydrating Foundation SPF15

One thing you need to know about me is that I adore glowy makeup. It makes my skin look so healthy and fresh! So, it’s no surprise that I’m kicking off this list with the Clarins Skin Illusion Foundation. It’s a fairly new addition to my makeup bag, but it’s everything I could want in a base (and more).

Skin Illusion is a match for me because it’s the perfect combination of skincare and makeup (think lightweight pigment and skin-boosting plant oils). It provides a light coverage that builds really well and creates a naturally flawless finish that allows my skin to shine through. Its texture is beautiful too; it’s very liquid, which makes it an absolute dream to blend into the skin.

Benefit Brow Contour Pro - 4 in 1 Contour Pencil

The Only Brow Product You Need

Benefit Brow Contour Pro – 4 in 1 Contour Pencil

Brows are a big deal to me and I take them very seriously. I won’t use any old thing! That being said, I am always willing to try the latest products everyone’s raving about, which is what brought Brow Contour Pro into my life.

The nifty 4-in-1 pen is a beauty gadget, but it’s definitely not a fad. It comes with two brow shades: a light shade to define the inner part of the brow and a darker shade for the arch and tail, plus a concealer to define and a highlighter for the brow bone. Brow Contour Pro earned a place in my makeup bag by offering s everything you need to create a defined brow. There’s no fussing with 4 different products, which frees up time and space.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Volume Mascara

A Smudge Free Zone

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Volume Mascara

Mascara has never been a makeup item I’ve given much thought to before. I tend to use whatever is closest to hand. This year, however, that’s changed because my eyelids have become a little more oily and I’ve noticed most of my mascaras transfer onto my eyelids by midday. And so began my new makeup mission: find a mascara that stays where I want it – on my lashes!

Luckily, this didn’t take me long, and after a few smudgy trials, I found the Toleriane Volume Mascara. Not only is this now my go-to because it doesn’t smudge and it creates mega volume, but it has a really comfortable formula that doesn’t irritate my eyes – I wear contact lenses daily so my eyes go through a lot!

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Lip Blush in 3013 Spicy Coral

The Most Comfortable Colour

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Lip Blush

If a lip colour promises pigment and longevity then I want to try it. The Artist Lip Blush made this claim and I didn’t hang around putting them to the wear test. The result? A new addition to my makeup bag!

In all honesty, there’s nothing not to love about Lip Blush. The formula glides so smoothly across the lips and the pigment is vivid and comfortable. My favourite shade is 301 – Spicy Coral, a bright coral with a warm, orange twist. I wear this on minimal makeup days as it instantly makes me look like I’ve made an effort when I really got ready in 5 minutes.

GUERLAIN Terracotta The Bronzing Powder - Natural and Long-Lasting Tan

A Post-Holiday Glow

GUERLAIN Terracotta The Bronzing Powder

There are many makeup bags with Terracotta inside and I’m so happy that mine is one of them. It’s my favourite bronzer because it fakes the effect of sun-kissed skin without looking too orange or over the top – I’m all about subtle enhancements!

Bronzer is a makeup step that I never, ever skip. It instantly gives my often dull complexion life. My Terracotta routine includes dusting it around the outside of my face, along my cheekbones and jaw bone andon the tip of my nose. I even use it day-to-day as an eyeshadow.
