Beauty Team Favourites – September 2018

Escentual Beauty Team Favourites September 2018

September; not only is it the month we welcome in the darker nights and cosy jumpers, but it’s also a monumental time for fragrance fans and trend lovers.

We’ve seen the launch of fragrances that are set to be big, and we’ve also witnessed the best in future beauty from the London, Milan and New York fashion weeks. So with all that excitement and with hundreds of new beauty launches to play around with, here’s what made our lust-list for September…

Emma

Emma Beauty Team Favourite Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Capsules

#1 Foolproof Retinol

Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Capsules Line Erasing Night Serum

Encapsulated retinol; two words that will set the hearts racing of skincare lovers who love uncompromising results from their nighttime routines (as they did mine!). Elizabeth Arden has the market cornered on encapsulated skincare (their Advanced Ceramide Capsules are iconic), and they’re bringing this expertise to an ingredient that’s much raved-about, but notoriously difficult to preserve: retinol. These little pearls deliver a concentrated blend of resurfacing retinol with moisturising ceramides, which not only offer you the perfect amount of product every time, they also ensure that the ingredients are airtight for maximum potency. I’ve been using one a night in place of my nighttime serum and I’m seeing luminous results (but don’t forget to wear SPF the morning after)!

Emma Beauty Team Favourite Paco Rabanne Pure XS For Her Eau de Parfum

#2 One of the Most-Anticipated Fragrances of the Year

Paco Rabanne Pure XS For Her Eau de Parfum

A blockbuster in every sense of the word, Pure XS For Her is one of the buzziest launches of the year. Everything about it equates to pure temptation; from its face, the exceedingly beautiful Emily Ratajkowski, to its excessive bottle in tempting pink ombre (complete with a golden snake, of course), it’s a new fragrance that refuses to go unnoticed. And its juice? Well who can resist a combination of ylang-ylang, vanilla and popcorn. It’s bold, memorable and pretty much delicious, and you can bet it’ll be at the top of every most-wanted fragrance list this Christmas.

Chelsey

Chelsey Beauty Team Favourite Caudalie Vinopure Blemish Infusion Serum

#1  The Natural Blemish Buster

Caudalie Vinopure Blemish Control Infusion Serum

I can’t help it. When it comes to skincare that’s blemish-related, I’ll happily put my hand up and try it. However, I particularly took a shine to Caudalie’s Vinopure Serum because of its 98% natural formula and my horrendous bout of hormonal acne.

Speaking from experience, when you have oily skin, you crave freshness. What’s extra special about this daily serum is its ability to purify and refresh your skin without drying it out. Its cooling gel gives your skin a gentle tingling feeling that’s not uncomfortable, it just feels squeaky clean, Plus, if your skin starts to clear as mine did, you can use this serum as an on-the-spot treatment for any unforeseen blemishes. It’s infused with a 100% natural form of salicylic acid too. Safe to say, I love it.

helsey Beauty Team Favourite bareMinerals Gen Nude Eyeshadow Palette in Neutral

#2 Minimal Colour

bareMinerals Gen Nude Eyeshadow Palette in Neutral

I thought my eyeshadow addiction was coming to an end, and then I saw the Gen Nude Palette from bareMinerals in the shade Neutral. The perfect fit for my handbag and the ideal colourway for my eyes, when I stumbled across this palette, I knew I had to have it for completely selfish reasons.

I’m all about streamlining my makeup and (apart from the gorgeous pigments inside), what swayed me is the fact I won’t waste time choosing what colours to wear, it’s all put together for me and it even comes with handy tutorials inside! Containing only 6 nudey-chocolate eyeshadows in a mix of 4 matte and 2 shimmers plus a travel-friendly mirror, I now take this palette everywhere with me. It’s become a real desk to dancefloor essential, especially with its autumnal colourway.

Ceryn

Ceryn Beauty Team Favourite The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density 2

#1 The Hair Must-Have

The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density

How my hair looks and feels is really important to me; I want it to look healthy, shiny and have that effortless swish we see on all the adverts. That’s not too much to ask, is it? Well, no, not if you’re treating it well and looking after it, which is exactly what I wasn’t doing. I’m guilty of over-washing, overstyling (and everything in between), which left not only my hair but also my scalp in need of some TLC.

Cue the Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density, the new hair treatment I’m using to improve the overall condition of my tresses. Jam-packed with antioxidants, this watery serum is applied directly to the scalp/roots, massaged in and left to work its magic. It helps with hair health but will also work wonders for anyone that’s looking to improve hair density or counteract dryness caused by temperature changes or hard water too.

Ceryn Beauty Team Favourite Ralph Lauren Woman Eau de Parfum 3

#2 Femininity Bottled

Ralph Lauren Woman Eau de Parfum

There are so many fragrances on the market right now that it’s really hard to know where to look. So, if I can give you one piece of advice this month it’s to try Ralph Lauren Woman first. It’ll probably make your perfume search very short!

Woman Eau de Parfum first appealed to me because I am crazy for white florals, its heart is packed with everything from jasmine and orange blossom to tuberose. And although the heart drew me in it was its dry down that has kept me coming back for more; Woman’s signature leaves this almost nutty aroma on your skin that’s so comforting and subtly sweet, it remains there hours later.
