It’s been a tough few months, and there’s never been a better time to treat yourself. Are you after a few self-indulgent luxuries to fill up your basket? Find all the inspiration you need below; we asked our team what they’re splurging on next!
If you love coconut…
I rarely treat myself to new beauty; my cupboards are bursting, so a little voice always pops into my head saying ‘do you need this, Ceryn?’. I’m trying to be more mindful, using up what I have before buying more. And there’s one other big plus to that; when you do pick up something new, it feels x10 better!
One thing that’s been on my wishlist for some time now is the Guerlain Coconut Fizz perfume. When it launched last year, I had a lot of fragrances; since then, I’ve used up a few. I have a bit of an obsession with the Aqua Allegoria range, so they’re always a treat for me. I love the way this one takes a traditional creamy coconut smell and makes it vibrant with watermelon and freesia; it’s a fresh aroma with a tropical twist, and I plan to make it my signature scent this summer.

If eyeshadow palettes are your vice…
I’m the first to admit that I spend too much money on makeup; but, I always seem to find a reason to justify splurging! What will I be buying? Well, I have a penchant for eyeshadow palettes, and top of my lust-list is the Naked Honey palette. It’s been number #1 on my things to buy since our Co-Editor Ceryn featured it in her Christmas makeup edit back in December.
I own most of the other Naked palettes, so naturally, I need this one too. Honey is everything I love about Urban Decay’s Naked palettes; high-pigment and wearable hues, these honeyed golds and browns go together like a dream. With an unlimited selection of exciting colour combinations to try, it’s just what my makeup collection is lacking right now – or so I keep telling myself!
See how Honey’s golden hues look on the eyes in Ceryn’s edit.
If rose fragrances are your jam…
Perfume is something that I will repeatedly treat myself to. Why? Because the moment lasts long after you first open the box and it can make you special every day.
If you’ve not explored the Miller Harris collection of fragrances, I’d urge you to! They create beautiful scents that perfectly capture moments and feelings. Next on my list is Rose Silence Eau de Parfum. I’m a huge fan of rose perfumes, and this one also incorporates patchouli and cashmere musk for a cosy dry-down that lingers on the skin.

If you fancy a little home luxury…
Since being gifted an Acqua di Parma Diffuser (Colonia), my bedroom can NEVER be without one; there is nothing else quite like them. Strong, but subtle, they transform any living space.
Whenever I walk into my room, and I smell the aroma of lemon and bergamot hits me, I know I can relax. I’ve tried Buongiorno (aromatic) and Colonia (citrus), and as soon as I run out, La Casa Sul Lago (fresh floral) is ready and waiting on my wishlist.

If you’re after an antidote for tired eyes…
As I’ve approached my late 20s, I’ve become quite conscious of the dark, puffy eyes that I seem to have acquired. I was recently recommended by a colleague (after voicing my concerns!) to try Shiseido Men Total Revitalizer Eye – although I was reluctant at first, as at £51 for 15ml, it’s definitely a splurge!
However, Shiseido’s reputation precedes it; it’s a brand known for its rich heritage of delivering luxury products for any skincare/makeup woes you may have, driven by innovative Japanese technologies, which are utterly unmatched, in my opinion. After some time contemplating, I took the plunge – And boy was it worth the investment! My eyes were brighter and felt revitalised from the very first use, and now I can’t be without it. Tip: I keep mine in the fridge – the extra ‘coolness’ reduces puffiness/swelling even faster!
If you want a new everyday perfume…
The problem with working at Escentual is that you become obsessed with perfume! Now I know that’s not a bad problem to have and believe me, my perfume collection has never looked more luxurious! But, it does mean that I’ve got an endless list of fragrances that I want to purchase and next up is Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile.
I can picture myself wearing this every day. It’s a light and delicate scent that centres itself around a rose note but also has gorgeous facets of peony and citrusy notes that then dry down to a light woody and musky aroma. It’s feminine but not at all overpowering and I can see it being my summer scent.
If almond-scented products are your favourite…
I’m a huge fan of the L’Occitane hand creams and always like to treat myself to these from time to time. But everyone keeps telling me I need to try the Almond Delicious body range, too – so I’m intrigued!
So next time I treat myself to hand cream, I’m going to buy this duo that also contains the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil. I can have that fresh sweet scent all over my skin that will also help to smooth, soften and tone – it will be a great little pamper for me when my baby goes to sleep!
If you’re into niche perfumes…
If you’re a regular visitor to the Escentual blog, you’ll know about my ongoing love affair with Van Cleef & Arpels Collection Extraordinaire Santal Blanc Eau de Parfum. It all started back in 2019 when it was first released. Before launch I used to spritz it on myself in the office and then when it was finally in stock I bought it and wore it every day during the summer until I finished it. That was a sad day!
Its woody-musky aroma centres itself around sandalwood with fragrant notes of mandarin, violet and fig milk – to me, it actually smells a little of coconut. However, this isn’t one of the ingredients. It’s quietly sexy, cosy and addictive. To mark the beginning of summer, I shall be treating myself to another bottle!
If you want your eyes to pop…
I’ve always been a fan of the Urban Decay Naked collection, and consider the palettes an investment purchase (well that’s what I tell myself to justify the fact I own more than one of them!). These days, I don’t go all-out glam with my makeup that often, and tend to sway towards safe nude shades. That said, the Naked Cherry palette has been in my wishlist for the longest time. Its bold berries and pretty pinks tease me every time I hover over the ‘add to basket’ button. However, I’ve decided to treat myself and splurge on this item, as even if I don’t use it every day, the warm and versatile cherry shades are timeless, and I know once I’ve taken the plunge I’ll wonder how I ever did my makeup without it!
