I fell in love with beauty when:

…I discovered YouTube and modelling. When I was a teenager, I didn’t watch TV. I was mesmerised by the young, normal girls like myself, creating incredible makeup looks on YouTube. I used to watch hours and hours of videos, picking up tips and tricks, and practising. A few years later, I started modelling, and I was equally as in awe of the makeup artists on shoots. I’m sure I annoyed many of them with my questions!


My career in the beauty industry started:

…before I finished university. As I approached my graduation (studying journalism), I landed a Go Wales placement at the beauty brand, e.l.f. Cosmetics UK. The placement should have been two weeks, but I was lucky enough to be kept on. After a year, I secured my job at Escentual as a Content Assistant. Fast forward six years and I’m now the Communications & Campaigns Editor, and our department’s team of three is now a team of six.


As Escentual’s Communications & Campaigns Editor I…

…work alongside an incredible team of women to create engaging communications across Escentual’s platforms. Whether you’re reading a tweet, scrolling an email, or browsing our website, we’re the team behind the content! But that’s just the tip of the iceberg; what I love about this role is its diversity. One day I’ll be writing an editorial sharing the best new beauty launches or hosting an Instagram live, and the next I’ll be searching for influencers and journalists to collaborate with on upcoming campaigns.


My beauty essentials are:

 …always changing! I’m always testing new products, and so my beauty stash is forever on rotation. A few things never change, though. I’ll never be without a good eyelash curler – you can’t go wrong with Shiseido; an orange-red lipstick will be my staple lip forever, bareMinerals Mineralist in Courage is my current go-to); and no perfume will ever be more ‘me’ than Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Essence de Parfum (discontinued) – a white floral with lashings of vanilla makes me feel powerful.


I find beauty inspiration in:

…the everyday woman. I’ll never tire of learning new tips and tricks, and often the people around us are the ones to watch! We see this more and more with Tik Tok’s rise in popularity; everyday people are becoming the influencers!


When I’m not working, you’ll find me:

… creating content! No rest for the wicked here; when I’m not creating content for Escentual, I’m filming videos for my social channels. You may also find me watching YouTube (I’m sure you’re not surprised), fussing over my dog (cockapoo), Peanut, and on long hikes with my partner.
