3 Of The Best Neck Creams for Every Budget

best neck creams for every budget

If you think about it, it’s no surprise that our necks are sometimes one of the first places to show signs of ageing. While we invest heavily in our complexions, many of us fail to pay as much attention to our neck and decolletage (the area from the chin to the chest). This delicate part of the body is just as susceptible to signs of ageing as our faces, in fact, the skin is thinner than parts of your face. So no matter how well you take care of your complexion, if you don’t protect and look after your neck, it could be giving your age away!

Your neck gets a pretty rough deal. Not only is the skin naturally more sensitive but gravity and the fact that most of us are constantly craning our necks over smartphones and laptops doesn’t help matters either! The good news is, there are a plethora of specially formulated creams to help tighten and slow down the ageing process and as someone who is definitely suffering from both a ‘turkey neck’ and a ‘tech neck’ – I need all the help I can get!

1. Best Neck Cream Under £30

best neck cream for every budget: Vichy Neovadiol Phytosculpt Neck & Face Contours Cream

Product: Vichy Neovadiol Phytosculpt Neck & Face Contours Cream

Benefits:
• Helps with firming neck and facial contours (chin and jawline).

Features:
• Targeted at those with 40+ or menopausal skin.
• Tightening and firming effect.
• Leaves skin feeling hydrated, plumped and even looking.

Texture: thick, balmy texture that melts into the skin and leaves a weightless film on the skin.
Scent: thick, balmy texture that melts into the skin and leaves a weightless film on the skin.
Application: apply to both sides of the neck in circular motions towards the jawline and also to the chin area and outwards.

Don’t be fooled, just because this is a budget option doesn’t mean to say it is less effective than the expensive products in this line-up. I particularly love the Vichy neck cream for daytime because it absorbs quickly in the skin and doesn’t leave a rich film like some neck creams can (I find those types of ones better for nighttime). After just a week of using it both day and night, I noticed that a lot of the fine lines on my skin had decreased and the skin definitely felt firmer under my chin. Although it’s marketed at those who are currently going through menopause, it’s fine for everyone to use who might be experiencing a lack of firmness or wrinkles in the neck area.

3. Best Neck Cream Under £50

best neck creams for every budget: Clarins Extra-Firming Neck & Decollete

Product: Clarins Extra-Firming Neck & Decollete

Benefits:
• Helps with firming, smoothing and tightening the neck area.

Features:
• Slows down skin slackening.
• Immediate tightening effect.
• Increases skin’s natural production of hyaluronic acid.

Texture: lightweight cream.
Scent: light, powdery floral.
Application: apply in sweeping motions from the chin to the decollete.

In my opinion, Clarins is the holy grail when it comes to anti-ageing skincare. They’re luxurious to use and get the job done. This one is a great choice if you don’t like neck creams that are too thick and heavy because it has a very light texture and leaves my skin feeling soft from the get-go. It gets to work on your neck concerns using an Extra-Firming Complex that incorporates plant extracts to help to firm and increase the skin’s flexibility and resilience. Green algae extract encourages the production of hyaluronic acid in the skin which helps to plump out wrinkles while organic oat sugars provide an immediate tightening effect.

3. Beck Neck Cream Under £100

best neck cream for all budgets: Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Neck & Décolleté Firm & Repair Cream

Product: Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Neck & Décolleté Firm & Repair Cream

Benefits:
• Helps with firming the neck area and decollete (chest) area.

Features:
• Powerful antioxidant blend.
• Collagen-boosting retinoid.
• Tightening polymers.
• Hyaluronic acid.

Texture: thick, balmy cream with a yellow tint.
Scent: fresh, clean – a little bit like sun cream.
Application: apply to the neck, jawline and chest area.

This is an expensive option, but worth it in my opinion. It’s brimming with skin ingredients that will help to improve the appearance of your neck and decolletage and is particularly good for those with dry or crepey skin in these areas because it helps to restore the skin. The multi-award-winning Prevage neck cream contains a powerful blend of antioxidants helps to neutralise and protect the delicate neck and decollete area from free radical damage while retinyl linoleate, lupin seed extract and lip amino acid support the skin’s own natural collagen and elastin – giving a smoother, firmer and plumper look and appearance.

From a personal perspective, I noticed a huge improvement in the pigmentation marks on my skin caused by sun damage after using this. I also loved the fact it has very fine light reflective particles in the cream so it leaves your neck and chest area with a beautiful sheen. You also don’t need a lot of it, so although it’s at the higher end of your budget, it will last.
