Our September Beauty Favourites

New beauty September 2021

September signals the start of Autumn, along with woolly jumpers, warm pumpkin spiced lattes and pavements coated with fallen leaves. But you’ll be pleased to hear that leaves aren’t the only thing dropping this September, with a whole host of exciting new launches on Escentual to take you through these darker nights. As we’re always first in line to try each and every new release, we’ve already spied out a few of our favourites – and they’re so good that we thought it was only fair to share them with you.

From fiery perfumes and iconic eye serums to glowing blushers, September has so many swoon-worthy beauty launches that you’ll want to pop straight into your baskets; here’s are our favourite new releases from this September…

1. The Spicy Perfume

new beauty launches from september 2021: GIVENCHY L'Interdit Rouge Eau de Parfum review

Name: Keavy Slattery
Product Pick: GIVENCHY L’Interdit Rouge Eau de Parfum

The new L’interdit Rouge is an absolute firecracker. The spicy simmering undertone in Rouge is a heated expression of the original; it still possesses the same chic and classy white floral feel of the Eau de Parfum but it has a new spiciness that makes it feel (don’t say, don’t say it) sexy – and classic! The ginger-loaded fragrance is daring and warm – and as a GIVENCHY fan myself, I’ll say it’s the most unique scent compared to the Intense and Eau de Toilette flankers. Rouge has a red glowy quality that makes it feel a little different to the woody white floral that I’m used to. What I will say though, is that it does still smell like L’Interdit because its heart notes are the same as the Eau de Parfum – which as a fan, I am happy about! If we have any L’Interdit lovers here, then it’s safe to say that you’ll love it. And for anyone who hasn’t tried the collection, if you wear soft spicy florals, give this a go – you’ll adore it, I promise!

2. The Sun-Kissed Blusher

New beauty launch september 2021: bareMinerals Gen Nude Blonzer in shade kiss of copper review

Name: Ceryn Lawless
Product Pick: bareMinerals Gen Nude Blonzer – Kiss of Copper

There’s nothing more precious to me than time. More time with my friends and family, more time in bed… the list goes on. That’s why I adore the bareMinerals Blonzers; they’re a bronzer and blush in one, cutting out steps and making more time for everything else. I use mine as an eyeshadow, too.

Years ago, I dreamt about owning masses of makeup and enjoyed a lengthy beauty routine, but these days my makeup bag is very pared back, so two-in-ones like this make my heart sing. My Blonzer of choice is Kiss of Copper; the coral-tan hue gives my complexion a healthy boost that looks healthy and pretty.

3. The Sheer-Matte Lipstick

Swatch of GIVENCHY Le Rouge Sheer Velvet rouge brique for new beauty released in september 2021

Name: Darcey Bayliss
Product Pick: GIVENCHY Le Rouge Sheer Velvet 32 – Rouge Brique

I love a bold lip but hate dry lips! So, when I tried the GIVENCHY Le Rouge Sheer Velvet collection, it was love at first swipe. The creamy lightweight formula glides across the lips for a sheer matte finish, while creating a soft blurred effect that leaves my pout full and vibrant.

If like me, you dislike drying matte lip colour, you’ll love Sheer Velvet’s comfortable, rich texture as it keeps your skin hydrated for up to 24 hours. And combined with 12 hours of wear and comfort, GIVENCHY’s extensive wardrobe of shades means there’s a perfect shade for everyone.

4. The Niche Oud

new beauty launch from september 2021: Miller Harris Oud Eclat Eau de Parfum review

Name: Jade Summers
Product Pick: Miller Harris Oud Eclat Eau de Parfum Spray

I have smelt a lot of fragrances throughout my three years working at Escentual, but this has to be my favourite! All I can say is ‘wow, this perfume is beautiful; from the leathery, earthy scent to the design of the bottle, Oud Eclat feels premium in every way. It’s the type of fragrance that makes me want to wear a red lippy because it smells that classy and luxurious.

I love how highly complex Oud Eclat is, and that it will appeal to everyone – no matter your fragrance preference or gender. The inspiration is also incredibly interesting as it honours the movement of lead and glass as they both entwine to create a crystal composed of light and darkness. This is also represented in the notes – from the oud richness, dark leathery notes and spices in the top to the warmer notes of sugar, nutmeg and tagete.

5. The Niche Gourmand

New beauty september 2021 launch: Parfums de Marly Oriana Eau de Parfum Spray

Name: Emily Wilkinson
Product Pick: Parfums de Marly Oriana Eau de Parfum Spray

I’m not one to shy away from vibrant colours and bold fragrances, so Parfums de Marly Oriana is everything I could want from a fragrance. A stunning cerise coloured bottle finished with delicate tassels and a pink jewel on the cap adds a modern twist to traditional fragrance bottle styles.

I adore how Oriana lasts through the day; it’s a perfect fruity, sweet and musky mix – though gourmand, the fresh citrus and berry notes add an uplifting and delicate tone to the sweet mallow and Chantilly cream notes, before settling to a light musk. True to inspiration, the mouthwatering scent is good enough to eat, evoking joy and pleasure; it’s a truly stunning, seductive and indulgent fragrance.

6. The Must-Have Eye Serum

New beauty September 2021: Clarins Double Serum Eye Global Age Control Concentrate review

Name: Chelsey Edmunds
Product Pick: Clarins Double Serum Eye

Double Serum is a beauty legend, so as soon as I knew Clarins were launching an eye version, I knew I needed to have it. I’m a big fan of the formulation and packaging; since using it daily, I prefer how my eyes now look – I have less lines, and everything looks more even!

My tip: Try using half of the singular dose on each eye before experimenting with the double dose- a little bit goes a long way, and you can pump it again (slowly) if you need extra.

8. The Luminous Scent

New beauty september 2021: BURBERRY Hero Eau de Toilette review

Name: Ben Thomas
Product Pick: BURBERRY Hero Eau de Toilette Spray

If you look up “hero” in the dictionary you’ll find the following definition: “a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities”.

That is genuinely how the new Burberry Hero made me (and others in the team, including some of the ladies!) feel – strong, powerful and confident when wearing it. Also, it’s a genius name as it plays into the existing women’s perfume range at Burberry: Hero & Her.

Adam Driver is the face of the fragrance, and although he’s played villains in lots of his roles, he definitely embodies the courageous and noble qualities you’d associate with a hero. The bottle is effortlessly beautiful, too, and looks amazing next to all the body products from the range!

9. The Glow-Giving Serum

New beauty launch in September 2021 Antipodes Glow Ritual Vitamin C Serum With Plant Hyaluronic Acid

Name: Richard Jenkins
Product Pick: Antipodes Glow Ritual Vitamin C Serum With Plant Hyaluronic Acid

I love a good vitamin C Serum; I’ve tried a lot over the last few years but this one is superb. The Antipodes Glow Ritual Vitamin C Serum is the latest innovation from Antipodes and its golden formula is one to behold. The results were immediate, and my skin looked fantastic after using it. Application is also easy via the dropper – and the serum itself looks stunning with a sparkling gold formula. Whilst some men might not be looking for a product that will make their skin glow, I think everyone who tries this will be delighted by the results they can achieve in the short and long term!

10. The Bold Fragrance

New beauty September 2021 launches: Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Extreme Eau de Parfum

Name: Ashleigh Morris
Product Pick: Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Extreme

I’m a big Black Opium fan so I couldn’t wait to try this new and more powerful version. It’s safe to say I love Extreme more than the original as it has the gourmand floral and energising coffee notes I adore from the classic  Eau de Parfum but with added projection and longevity for a bolder signature. I love its warm undertone, which isn’t overpowering but has a sweet sensuality that sits close to the skin for hours. I can’t talk about this scent without mentioning the glittery bottle which is super cute and stunning to have on display on the dresser too!

11. The Eco-conscious Palette

New beauty September 2021 releases bareMinerals Mineralist Eyeshadow Palette in Rose wood

Name: Eleni Banti
Product Pick: bareMinerals Mineralist Eyeshadow Palette

The bareMinerals Mineralist Eyeshadow Palette is an eco-conscious eyeshadow palette that combines highly pigmented colour with skin-loving ingredients – and in my opinion, it’s one of the best new launches. The product is vegan, uses 95% naturally derived ingredients and is mineral-based. What’s more, the Mineralist palettes are made from recyclable and plastic-free materials.

But what about the eyeshadows? I love that the palette contains both rich mattes and glistening shimmers, which can be used for every occasion. The colours in every palette are stunning; each one contains bold colours that really make your eyes pop, but my personal favourite has to be the Rosewood palette.

Not to mention, each bareMinerals palette boasts an amazing design that resembles a little book with its own bookmark – how cute!
