beauty empties february escentual team

February came to an end, and so did some of our favourite beauty products. Even though we sometimes shed a tear or two when we have to cut the end of the tube or squeeze the last drop out of our favourite product, if we’re being totally honest, as self-confessed beauty addicts, we love the opportunity to buy something new!

Want to see what Team Escentual used up in February? From hydrating serums to nourishing bubble baths, there are so many excellent beauty products to share with you in this month’s beauty empties edit…

1. The Nourishing Conditioner

Beauty empty Klorane Mango Nourishing Conditioner for Dry Hair

Name: Kate

Product pick: Klorane Mango Nourishing Conditioner for Dry Hair

Why did you buy this product? Ever since I started using the Klorane mango range, my hair has felt so much healthier and more well-nourished – and it definitely looks less dry and frizzy, too. I started using this vegan conditioner alongside the shampoo and the leave-in cream as I always like to try dedicated hair care routines where I can, rather than just switching in one product, so I can really give a range a run for its money.

What did you love about this product? How well conditioned my hair feels after! I love how it really gets to work on nourishing my hair without making it look weighed down. And I don’t think I’ll ever fall out of love with its sweet, juicy mango scent either.

Will you be repurchasing it? Yes, definitely. The Klorane mango hair care range is my go-to hair care line at the moment – and this conditioner is a staple within that collection.

2. The Anti-Blemish Serum

Beauty empty Avene Comedomed

Name: Ceryn

Product pick: Avene Cleanance Comedomed Anti-Blemishes Concentrate

Why did you buy this product? Simply put, I was spotty. My skin wasn’t playing ball, and I needed something strong enough to help clear my complexion.

What did you love about this product? It works! Whenever I’m spotty, I want skincare that’s easy to use and fast-acting – I want those whiteheads gone. Comedomed not only reduces the look of existing blemishes, but it contains 25% Comedoclastin, a natural ingredient derived from plant milk thistle that prevents them from forming again. As well as this, it contains Avene Thermal Spring Water, an anti-irritating active that makes the formula suitable for sensitive skin, which is ideal as I have eczema-prone skin.

Will you be repurchasing it? I’ll definitely repurchase Comedomed. Everyone needs an anti-blemish treatment in their stash for breakout emergencies.

3. The Skin-Smoothing Bubble Bath

L'Occitane Shea Bubble Bath empty

Name: Eleni

Product pick: L’Occitane Shea Bubble Bath

Why did you buy this product? I think baths are the perfect way to relax after a stressful day. I take baths regularly, so get through bubble baths so quickly, especially during the winter months when it’s cold outside and my skin feels extra dry. For times like these, the L’Occitane Shea Bubble Bath is my number one choice as it’s super nourishing.

What did you love about this product? Every time I use the L’Occitane Shea Bubble Bath, I feel like my skin is getting a boost of moisture; the bubble bath creates mountains of bubbles and a milky water that’s infused with shea butter to hydrate and soften my sensitive skin; plus, it has a soothing scent that adds to the pampering experience.

Will you be repurchasing it? Definitely! Now that I’ve used it, I will always have a spare one in case of emergencies!

What will you do with the empty? I will keep the bottle to fill it with something from the refill collection.

4. The Plumping Serum

empty Kiehl's Hydro-Plumping Serum Concentrate

Name: Keavy

Product pick: Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Serum Concentrate

Why did you buy this product? My skin was so dry, and I was in desperate need of new hydrating serum. Since turning 25, my fine lines have also become more pronounced, so I was looking for a serum that could help plump and smooth my skin.

What did you love about this product? What I love most about this product is its texture, and of course how plump, dewy and fresh my skin looks after using it. The gel serum melts into the skin quickly and has a lovely silky feel that leaves my skin feeling smooth, which also makes it the perfect base for applying foundation. The Hydro-Plumping Serum isn’t just your ordinary serum as it helps your skin to produce its own hyaluronic acid and contains a whopping 15% glycerin.

Will you be repurchasing it? I’m currently using up The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 first!

5. The Hydrating Serum

Name: Hannah

Product pick: Antipodes Hosanna H2O Intensive Skin-Plumping Serum

Why did you buy this product? I love the Antipodes H20 Hydrating Water Gel moisturiser, so I wanted to try some more of this range. My skin can get oily because it’s so dehydrated, so I wanted a lightweight serum to help with this.

What did you love about this product? I loved how easily the serum absorbs, making it a super quick but effective addition to my skincare routine. My makeup applies flawlessly after using this with no dry skin patches in sight!

Will you be repurchasing it? Next winter, I will repurchase the serum to help with the drying effects that the colder months have on the skin! For now, I am looking towards spring and switching to the Avene A-Oxitive Antioxidant Defense Serum as I start to spend more time outside again.

What will you do with the empty? The glass bottle is going in the recycling!

Product pick: L’Occitane Almond Cleansing and Softening Shower Oil

Why did you buy this product? As soon I tried the ultra-luxurious L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil, I knew I could never go back to a time in my life when I wasn’t using it! The rich, indulgent foam and delicious almond fragrance have transformed my shower experience.

If you find your skin feels dry and tight after you cleanse, the nourishing almond oil will leave your skin feeling supple, toned, and soft-to-touch (and, that’s even before you’ve moisturised).

What did you love about this product? L’Occitane’s sustainable and ethical commitments make me feel good about buying again! Plus, the new refill reduces your plastic wastage by 65-90% and it comes with enough to top up your bottle twice – a win-win, if you ask me.

Will you be repurchasing it? Of course – I love it!

What will you do with the empty? Refill it.
