Philip Kingsley Moisture Extreme Range Review

Philip Kingsley Moisture Extreme Range Review

Designed for natural, tightly coiled curls, the Philip Kingsley Moisture Extreme range has been deemed their most nourishing collection to date – and I’ve been learning all about the fan-favourite line. To find out everything you need to know and discover whether this is the hair care regime for you, take a browse of my Philip Kingsley Moisture Extreme review…

The Most Important Thing About The Philip Kingsley Moisture Extreme Collection Is…

Like all Philip Kingsley products, the Moisture Extreme hair care line has been created and perfected by leading experts in their field. The brand is now spearheaded by leading trichologists (that means ‘expert in the hair and scalp’) and brand president Anabel Kingsley, who is the daughter of the world-renowned founder, Philip Kingsley.

Anabel Kingsley and her team of trichologists have a combined experience of over 170 years – and they’ve packed all of their expertise into the all-vegan Moisture Extreme range. Featuring shampoo and a conditioner, the collection is designed to offer an intense dose of nourishment to coiled hair while taming even the toughest frizz for hair that’s softer, stronger and easier to style.

What Hair Type Is It For?

It’s made for natural tightly coiled/curly hair that’s susceptible to damage and breakage. The duo is suitable for natural, relaxed or synthetic hair, and is best suited to African-Caribbean hair. It can also be used by those with extremely dry, damaged or processed locks.

You Will Love This Range If…

If you have 4C curls and you’ve struggled to find a hair care routine that’s nourishing enough, this might be the perfect range for you. It hydrates your hair from the cleansing stage through to the conditioning stage, while helping to detangle and defrizz.

Hero Ingredients:

Both formulas use the power of naturally nourishing oils to care for your hair:

Moisture Extreme Shampoo The shampoo delivers a surge of moisture and helps repair damaged hair cuticles using Oligoquat M, while anti-static guar ensures smoothness and control. To complete the mix, a derivative of cocoa butter helps to cleanse, condition and detangle.

Moisture Extreme Conditioner The conditioner uses a blend of four naturally derived oils to deeply condition your hair: almond oil enhances shine and smoothness, wheatgerm oil floods your hair with Vitamin E and fatty acids, and avocado oil strengthens and moisturises whilst babassu encourages a soft, shiny and frizz-free finish.

What Does Each Item Feel Like?

The shampoo has a clear liquid gel texture that lathers easily, while the conditioner has a creamy texture that nourishes your hair from the get-go whilst still feeling lightweight.

What Does The Range Smell Like?

Both formulas have a really refreshing, uplifting aroma; it’s hard to pin down the exact fragrance, but it’s the scent of premium hair care bottled.

How Do You Use The Products?

Apply the Moisture Extreme Shampoo to wet hair and create a lather by gently kneading the scalp for 60 seconds. Rinse well after use, and repeat this step if you think your hair needs an extra bit of nourishment. Follow up with the Moisture Extreme Conditioner by working it from the mid-lengths to the ends of your hair before rinsing out.

Although there are currently only two steps in the Moisture Extreme range, I’d definitely recommend you take a look at the rest of Philip Kinglsey’s hair care offerings as you might just find the perfect complementary treatment to go either side of this routine if you want to take your hair care routine to the next level (hint: I’d recommend taking a look at the icon that is the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer hair mask…)

What’s Special About The Design Of The Range?

Philip Kingsley uses bioplastic made from sugarcane-derived ethanol, which is classed as carbon negative as sugarcane absorbs such a high amount of carbon dioxide as it’s growing. This renewable, eco-conscious approach to packaging is also 100% recyclable; simply rinse it out and pop it in your recycling bin.

Going one step further, Philip Kingsley has also ditched outer cardboard packaging to minimise unnecessary excess waste.

Values?

All Philip Kingsley products are cruelty-free, and this range is completely vegan.
