January has a bad reputation for being a little dull, but we promise there’s lots of excitement in our round-up of the best news stories from the world of beauty, music and more. In our first edition of Escentual Loves for 2023, we’re highlighting our favourite moments from January so far, giving you a peek into Escentual HQ with the new launch of Origins, our thoughts on the new face of Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, and a luxury beauty brand that is making waves with the creation of a makeup tool for limited hand and arm mobility. The Escentual team have been working hard to launch the iconic skincare brand, Origins. Part of the Estee Lauder group, do-good-brand Origins aims to do more than create naturally efficacious skincare products; they have also pledged over 2.1 million tree saplings.
French Pharmacy Month
Our quarterly French Pharmacy 1/3 off promotion is back for 2023. Lasting until January 31st, it features all your favourite French brands such as La Roche-Posay, Eucerin, Bioderma, Klorane, Embryolisse and Avene…
Last Ever #EscentualScents: Lavender
We can’t quite believe our #EscentualScents trial is ending after two fantastic years. We’ve produced 25 themed scents boxes and sold thousands to fragrance lovers across the UK. Our biggest achievement is the close-knit #EscentualScents fragrance community with 1300+ members. We’ve loved seeing how much you’ve learnt and the friends you’ve made! But it’s not just you who loved our blind trial; it also won silver for Pure Beauty’s best innovation in 2021.
We want to take this opportunity to thank anyone who has been part of the #EscentualScents journey, including our sensational Facebook live reveal host, Thomas Dunckley. We’re so grateful that you trusted us to deliver a new and unique fragrance experience, it’s been great, and we hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as we have!
Emily Ratajkowski: Flowerbomb
We didn’t think we could love Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb anymore, and then model, author and feminist Emily Ratajkowski was announced as the new face. In line with the release of her book ‘My Body’, Emily Ratajkowski has become a symbol of female empowerment, showing what it means to a woman today — stating her sexy femininity as a reason to feel empowered rather than satisfying a male gaze. Like Flowerbomb, she is a celebration of sensuality and beauty.

We believe that beauty should be accessible to everyone, so it’s incredible seeing beauty brands moving towards this mission. Lancome is leading the way with a luxe lipstick accessory which makes applying your lipstick steadily easier for anyone with limited hand and arm mobility.
Selena Gomez: Skincare Routine
@selenagomezPSA I got most of these products free. I ain’t just rolling like that everywhere. Use any serum to take off make up before washing. It breaks it up nicely. Also use a sponge to wipe eyes to treat eyes delicately when removing make up. K I’m done pretending I know what I’m taking about.♬ Never Be Me – Miley Cyrus
Selena Gomez revealed her entire skincare routine, and we are here for it! We spotted some familiar products stocked on Escentual, which are more affordable than you think…

Young Gravy: ‘Save The Nip’ campaign
@isupportthegirls Hi @Yung Gravy 🍯 ♬ original sound – I Support the Girls
TikTok has been flooded with videos of Yung Gravy on a stage full of bras. Viral TikTok famous rapper Young Gravy has been collecting his fan’s bras, but it’s not what you might think; he’s donating them to domestic violence and homeless shelters, and he will match the amount with a donation to a breast cancer charity.
Bras are one of the least donated items to homeless shelters as they are one of the most expensive, but they are essential to a woman’s day-to-day comfort.

It’s hard to scroll TikTok without coming across the ‘clean girl’ trend. What is it? It’s an effortless aesthetic with makeup and hair so fresh and minimal that it looks like you have just stepped out of the shower. But this isn’t just limited to your beauty; it can be applied to everything from your bathroom decor to your fashion choices.
