Trend Spot: Pear Perfumes

Best Pear Perfumes

Move over, mandarin. Pear seems to be the ‘IT’ note dominating some of this year’s most exciting perfumes. Sweet, green and juicy, I’ve learned to love this fruit’s many facets. It can be crisp, feel delicate, and even smell like it’s been caramelised.

Pear blends perfectly with the delicacy of white florals, and even pairs well with the sweetness of vanilla. Versatile and always fresh, here are my favourites to discover if you love the sound of pear perfumes…

1. The Pear Blossom

Best Pear Perfumes of 2023

Mugler Alien Goddess Supra Florale Eau de Parfum

Launched: 1st July 2023

When you think of pear blossom, it’s subtle, sweet and redolent of spring; Supra Florale is an idyllic depiction of this fruity flower. Soft and sensual, the pear appears from the first spritz but drenches each floral note in crisp, fresh juice.

You can tell from the first spray that it’s Alien, but the pear adds a certain subtlety, making it the perfect pear blossom perfume.

Notes:

Top notes are Catcus Flower Accord, and Pear.

Heart notes are Jasmin Grandiflorum, Jasmin Sambac, Everlasting Flower (Imortelle).

Base notes are Everlasting Flower Absolute (Immortelle).

2. The Caramalised Pear

Best Pear Perfumes: Prada Paradoxe

Prada Paradoxe Eau de Parfum Intense

Launched 9th August 2023

No sugar or cinnamon, just sweet, syrup. Prada Paradoxe Intense warm, heated base of smooth vanilla and radiant amber ‘brown-off’ off the pear, creating an almost edible floral concoction. The pear doesn’t stay prominent as the scent drys down, however, I can’t help but feel the honeyed dry down stays vibrant because it’s been sweetened with pear.

Notes

Top notes are Pear, Neroli, Bergamot.

Heart notes are Moss, Jasmine, Neroli Essence.

Base notes are Ambrofix, Serenolide, Amber, Bourbon Vanilla, and Vanilla.

3. The Poached Pear

Best Pear Perfumes Of 2023

Lancome Idole Now Florale Eau de Parfum

Launched: 19th July 2023

Picture poached pears. I think of soft, tender skin and a subtle sweetness.

Unlike caramelised pears that are crispy and intense, poached pears aren’t sticky sweet, they’re delicate, and that’s how I’d describe Idole Now Florale. The fruit juices in this perfume tenderise the potentially bold aromas of white florals and woods, slowly poaching them in pear to reveal a more delicate side.

Notes

Top notes are Rose, Pear and Bergamot.

Heart notes are Orchid, Jasmine and Lily Of The Valley.

Base notes are Vanilla, Musk and Cedarwood.
