10/10 - Just the loveliest finish ever!
Quite simply put, this is just the most beautiful, elegant, gorgeous sunscreen that has exceeded all of my expectations and that I would recommend to almost anyone. I was not expecting to love it quite so much but I cannot deny it, this may be my favourite sunscreen ever and I have probably tried at least fifty different sunscreens just in the last five years!
Just as a bit of background info in case it is helpful, I am a sunscreen collector. I must have dozens upon dozens of sunscreens as I am forever seeking 'the one.' I have tried sunscreens at all price points, from countless brands and all continents. I have very, very sensitive skin with diagnosed allergies that is very reactive. I also have a combination skin that is prone to being dry and flakey in patches (tretinoin user) and yet is very oily in other places. I am also prone to melasma and I am very conscious of using the highest, most effective and cosmetically elegant sun protection possible without being willing to compromise on the finish. I am a tough customer!
The Caudalie Vinosun Ocean Protect Very High Protection Lightweight Cream SPF50+ is, for my needs and preferences one of the very best, if not THE best sunscreen I have tried to date. Why? It is a truly lightweight fluid that glides onto the skin leaving it feeling so healthy, so hydrated, so comfortable and juicy yet never oily or smothered. I would describe it as being very hydrating, like a watery drink for the skin. It does leave a plump and glass-like finish to the skin but it is never greasy and absolutely not heavy int he slightest. It wears beautifully under make up, even improving the look of my base products as it leaves a hydrated canvas and helps prevent those dry patches. I do always allow at least 20-30 minutes after application before I apply my base product but I just use this time to do eye makeup or to potter! As I have said, my skin can be very oily in places and yet this sunscreen does not exacerbate this as it is so hydrating. Often oily skin can produce more oil as it is so dehydrated so having a hydrating base can actually help.
There is one thing I should mention that is one of this sunscreen's best features but that is also something to be prepared for. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that this sunscreen has no parfum, no fragrance and no essential oils, all of which irritate sensitive skin. It does, however have the very faintest whiff of a natural scent and that scent is...like the bottom of a fish tank! Please do not let this put you off as it is so subtle that most people wouldn't even pick up on it. It also wears off within nano-seconds of application. I would just be being a bit unfair if I didn't mention the one and only slight niggle with what is otherwise the perfect sunscreen. Some days, I don't even detect this but others, it just reminds me that this sunscreen is truly free from artificial fragrance and I'd rather smell a whiff of fish tank than have my skin break out or turn red raw!

Disappointed
I had seen this recommended by some beauty influencers, they raved about it I was disappointed. It’s super runny and even though its thin and supposed to be light weight left my skin feeling greasy and looking shiny.

It is hard to find a suncream that rates highly on the app Yuka but this one rates excellent.
