Expensive but good value!
Expensive but worth every penny. My first Mason & Pearson lasted about 20 years but then my husband started using my 2nd one which lasted about 10 years so all in all about the same in terms of usage!

Fabulous Hairbrush
Wish I had purchased this years ago. I have long thick hair which gets tangled easily. This brush whilst gentle detangles the hair with ease. The cleaning brush supplied with this is a bonus.
I shall also purchase a travel size brush.
Delivery was prompt

Makes a massive difference
To anyone hesitating purchasing this because of the price tag, consider it an investment for your hair. This is probably the best hairbrush on the market, it really does make quite a difference compared to any old plastic thing. The nature of the tight bristles gives the hair a most fantastic shine that cheap brushes simply do not give. The paddle size is generous and the whole brush is very gentle on the scalp. This is the rolls royce of hair brushes and if you maintain it with the cleaner brush it should definitely last you many many years, if not a lifetime.
We have previously owned the pocket pure bristle brush but our hair is quite thick - this bristle/nylon mix is much more suitable.

Mason Pearson bristle/nylon brush
There are 8 rings of bristle and nylon which is quite a big brush. It is of excellent quality, you can feel it envigorating the scalp but is not scratchy, just firm. The quality of this brush cannot be beaten it is second to none. The handle is a good shape, balanced and easy to hold. All in all the best brush you can get. I have not tried the nylon brush or just the boar bristle but I would guess they are not as firm as the two together. Apart from using this brush for myself, over the past 40 years I have used Mason Pearson brushes in various sizes for my Bearded Collie, my Afghan Hound and my Lhasa Apso, all long haired and needing daily brushing.
