I have oily, acne prone skin with dry patches around the cheeks and due to numerous exfoliation efforts to keep blackheads at bay, my skin often feels vulnerable and irritated (red post-acne marks are more emphasized and prominent). Also, I have found that some serums contradict acids present in last-step moisturisers so I needed a nice hydrating cream without any active ingredients and which at least wouldn't exacerbate or cause spots. This balm is a miracle! Not only it provides rich hydration but it also calms and heals the skin barrier which has been processed through a lot of exfoliation/acid peels, etc.! It's early days for me but I also noticed that it diminishes my large pores too. I couldn't believe how nicely this rich cream soaks in into my skin. I don't use much but enough to cover the whole face and within 5 minutes it is literally not there but soaked in. I use it only in the evening as the last step of the routine. Hopefully it will never discontinue and oh! The price is amazing too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by katy42 from Soothing, healing must-have I've found this thick cream is excellent for treating occasional bouts of skin irritation or extreme dryness. Heals any discomfort within 2-3 days and is very effective when used with the La Roche-Posay (or Avene) thermal water spray. Best used at night, although I have found it very good as a daytime protective barrier cream in very cold weather. It contains zinc which can leave a slight white film on darker skins but not a problem as it absorbs easily and works well under makeup. A great product to keep handy for skincare problems.

The redness in my cheeks just disappears overnight Lovely texture leaving your skin super soft, you dont need much, great on sensitive skins and no offensive smell It worked on my eyelids that i managed to burn on holiday recently. Highly recommend and would not be without this life saver now
