Urban Decay All Nighter Ultra Glow Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray is rated out of 5 by 1.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Honeypie from Sadly Seemingly Not For Me I was hoping to find a setting spray that really d o e s give both longevity to make up most of all, and a more alive / glowy finish at the end of make up application, but sadly I am disappointed by this setting spray for that and am about to give up on setting sprays in general. I have now tried this using both the 'Urban Decay All Nighter Glowy Primer' before make up, and with my usual primer (where sadly the Urban Decay option was not for me either, in itself or otherwise), and I'm a bit surprised by the finish that, for me, accentuates my forehead fine lines (happily very few and not deep at all even at 42) and also make pores m o r e visible. All in all this make my otherwise very natural and skin like make up (achieved with mineral make up only) looks so much more like.. well, make up. From a distance maybe (all of a sudden grateful for the 2 metre distance 'rule') my skin looks glowy absolutely, but nay closer than that it looks very much like too much make up, a look I'm not fond of for me at all. As I've read great reviews for this before buying I have tried using less, a bit more, and always shaking really well as directed. I've tried spraying in an 'x and t formation' away from face, spraying into air and 'walking into the mist' and also going closer with the bottle, but I keep getting the same results. A few times I've also had that poor spray action where bigger 'drops' of spray comes out and that managed to leave clearly visible spots of NO make up left. Those times I tried applying more make up on those spots, but it is impossible to blend that seamlessly and I just ended up with cakey powdery spots. For the finish otherwise, just as with the 'Urban Decay All Nighter Glowy Primer' for me, - it seem this would maybe be good if you have overall great (/ very young) skin, as it DOES leave a glowy / dewy look to the skin, but for me it's a mix and no match result where my cheeks look amazing (and yes, glowy beautiful..!), but anywhere with a tiny bit of lines (like forehead) and texture (like nose / side of nose and chin) it amplify lines, enlargen pores and leave a finish that looks like I'm wearing more make up than when I just use my normal primer and no setting spray. Today I just came back, not even 3 hours after doing my make up and there are 'red dents' from my sunglasses (that I can't, as otherwise, kind of blend almost seamlessly back into 'make up meet skin', but now that is impossible) and also rubbed off make up on the chin (from a brief wear of a silky face mask, that again; I've had l e s s visible wear when using only my usual primer and n o setting spray). I had read great reviews (on different sites) for this before buying, and I'm disappointed it doesn't work for me at all, especially having splurged on this + the Urban Decay 'All Nighter Setting Spray Extra Glow' (which sadly has left me equally disappointed) at a time where I just should have stuck with what I know works for me as I'm on a very limited budget. Great service and price points with Escentual as always though (!), so I'm sad this product has left me not likely to try anything new for a long time.
