Brighten your complexion with The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone, an anti-ageing serum that targets wrinkles, fine lines and uneven tones to help you achieve youthful and radiant skin.

The Ordinary Vitamin C formula is water-free, and contains 30% pure L-Ascorbic Acid (a stable form of vitamin c) that helps fight the common signs of ageing. Hero ingredient vitamin c is especially good for mature skin, as it helps boost collagen production, repairing and renewing skin for a supple and plumped effect and added radiance.

As well as antioxidant protection, vitamin c defends the skin against free radicals like pollutants, which can result in accelerated ageing like wrinkles and fine lines. The lightweight formula contains incredibly light silicone, which glides over the skin to leave it visibly smooth, rejuvenated and glowing.

Why We Love It

In our eyes vitamin c is a do-it-all ingredient everyone needs to add to their routine, and adding to your skincare shelf is a great preventative measure against the signs of ageing. The fragrance-free serum is so versatile, it doubles up as a youth-enhancing formula while protecting your complexion too.

How To Use It

Apply a small amount to the skin and massage in. Use this daily treatment once per day either in your morning or evening skincare regime. For best results, use in the evening, following your favourite serum.

Note: Due to the high concentration of vitamin c, the cream may tingle upon application to the skin for 1-2 weeks. If the sensation is too strong to tolerate, dilute the formula by mixing with a cream or serum.

The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone 30ml is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Vitamin C is not for basic B-words Where do I start! I knew I wanted a vitamin C product, I knew I didn’t want any additives in the form of unnecessary fragrance , and I knew I wanted to protect my skin for the future and give it a glow without acids ( exfoliating acids cause hyperpigmentation, especially for the brown-skinned ). Unfortunately I was also very much a basic b*** when it comes to skincare . I thought I could just slap something on and go. If this is you, TO Vit C is NOT your friend. A few things I’ve learned: 1) Start small. This will sting you on first or first few applications, sensitive skin or not. Use the smallest amount you can get out of the tube. 2) Mix it. They even list this in the description. As this formulation doesn’t have water in it, I find it’s best to mix it with 3 drops of the ordinarys resveratrol +ferulic acid and a drop of vitamin e oil. The texture of this is like a cream that changes to a dry oil that settles in quickly and feels smooth . Some research suggests that the ferulic and Vit E stabilises the Vit C and leads to more skin benefits. This gives you the same ingredients as a certain VERY expensive Vit C serum which shall go unnamed, at about 1/10th of the price . Do NOT mix it with niacinamide , your face will flush and hurt. Do not use it at the same time as any sort of harsh product like exfoliating acids or retinol. ( Ferulic acid is not an exfoliating acid). 3) Apply after moisturiser. For me, this is the ordinarys HA serum with caudalie grape water sprayed before and after. I let that fully absorb before applying the Vit C and this also protects me from dryness. Also, nothing is going to absorb after you apply this silicone based product - it has a smooth surface which feels like a primer on skin, so make this vitamin C the last product that goes on your face . 4) Use at night. There’s some evidence that vitamin C becomes a pro-oxidant , aka the opposite of an anti oxidant, when exposed to sunlight and can turn your skin orange. I learnt this from experience. You don’t want this. 5)Oil cleanse or use an oil based cleanser in the morning. I use vitamin e oil, or squalane oil, or whatever I have around. This is to make sure the silicones are removed fully from my skin as some gentle cleansers may not get all of it off. You don’t want residual silicones as some people find that they block pores and we know they act like a ‘primer’ stopping others from absorbing. 6) Dont be basic. Girl (/guy/person), Vitamin C is for the long haul. It’s not a quick fix. My face is just starting to look brighter after about 6 weeks, but I’m expecting sustained results . Be consistent . Don’t be tempted by fragrance, buzzword ingredients, hype and unnecessary fillers. Do your research !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective I'm 48 with a pretty dehydrated and sensitive skin that's been my issue since teenage years even with bouts of eczema. I was looking to switch up my routine at night and have been using this product fairly regularly - normally for four or five days on the trot, and then giving my skin a break with a slightly softer Vitamin C formulation - and have really enjoyed the results so far in about 6 weeks of use. The product glides on and you could say that it leaves a sort of velvety barrier over which any other treatment like an oil and then night cream for example, can easily be applied. It does tingle quite a lot when you apply and will feel quite warm for a while but, so far, I haven't experienced any adverse reaction at all. When combined with The Ordinary's Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane at night, I wake up to a skin that looks much smoother and more even in texture pretty much immediately after use on day one. The skin around my eyes is noticeably plumper with many fine lines filled out, and the most striking result so far is that my previously dull complexion looks much brighter and healthier. The skin feels energised and I've found that as the weeks go on, my skin seems to have strenghthened and readjusted itself - going from being pretty lacklustre, dry and tired, to something quite opposite. I will try The Ordinary's other Vitamin C product once I get thorugh this one, just to sample a different texture, but all in all I would recommend this product for its efficacious treatment and its very purse-friendly pricepoint. A little goes a long way too, with just a couple of squeezes of the tube being ample to cover the face and neck. Very satisfied; I would keep this in my skincare arsenal to boost the skin and keep it strong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little product! I have never used the Ordinary before and after ordering it, I tried it on at night. So glad I ordered this cream. It takes a few drops of it, as it is quite concentrated. Its really easy to apply, sinking into your skin effortlessly. Amazing product at this price range.
