Serge Lutens Vitriol d'oeillet Eau de Parfum Spray 50ml is rated out of 5 by 8.
Rated 2 out of 5 by DollOfPain from An unfortunate clash I'm really, really disappointed in this particular fragrance - I love Lutens fragrances usually, but this one feels like a bit of a misstep to me. It opens beautifully, with a really rounded, sweet floral note of carnation and incense, but once it dries down to its heart notes, it becomes actively unpleasant. The carnation seems to be layered with something completely clashing which smells like a horrible combination of cucumber and melon and ends up vaguely medicinal. After about an hour or so, its base notes revert to a vague carnation and incense, which is nice, but it literally does not last longer than two hours tops on my skin. Such a shame, because I love carnation perfumes, but this one just doesn't work for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FleurDeLys from An amazing fragrance At first, this perfume reminded me of a flower garden in late autumn. Some indistinct notes then surfaced, like spicy carnation or something brutal, like pepper. The blend started to appeal to me and the perfume itself evolved towards a raw animal, evoking smoke, childhood or even powder, dust. Vitriol d’œillet is finally an angry scent. You can visualize petals of carnation explode in an elegant, edgy nature. A dark scent that speaks poetry and freedom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mollydolly from Rare Carnation Love the Lutens range and this is no exception. Carnation is rarely a pronounced note so this along with the Etro Dianthus is lovely. Longer lasting than the Etro as this is an Eau de Parfum.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DollyD from Another great from Serge Lutens Lighter more floral fragrance than some of the others form the range. Tested from a sample and is on my wish list. Not too overpowering and lasts very well
