I’ll cut to the chase, if you haven’t tried Eucerin yet, you’re missing out. Although I was new to them when I started at Escentual, the German-based brand is now a part of my daily skincare routine; I’ve even got my Mum hooked!
And with over 100 years of skincare expertise, it’s no surprise that Eucerin has a dedicated range for every skin type and concern.
Sometimes, it can be tricky enough to work out what your skin needs though; and then you have to scour a brand’s entire collection to find the solution. But don’t worry; I’m here to help. This edit gives you the lowdown on Eucerin’s leading ranges, so you can find out which one – or two! – are perfect for you…
Aquaphor Is For Very Dry, Cracked Or Irritated Skin
Who Is Aquaphor Perfect For? Anyone who suffers with extremely dry, cracked skin. Aquaphor is great for drier areas like the heels of your feet, knees and elbows. It can even be used on minor burns, or applied to skin after chemical peels and laser treatments (just make sure you don’t use it on open wounds or skin that hasn’t healed). And another top tip? It helps comfort the sensitive nappy area of little ones.
What’s In The Range? You know a product’s good when it’s the only thing in the range – and Aquaphor is a range in its own right. A multipurpose marvel, it can be used for so many different things.
What Does The Range Do? Eucerin’s Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm nourishes, repairs and protects very dry skin. It helps strengthen the skin’s natural protective barrier (what keeps skin healthy and hydrated). The balm also locks in moisture using glycerin, while skin-hydrating panthenol speeds up skin repair.
My Recommendation: It isn’t difficult to recommend a product for this range as there’s only one item in it. That being said, I always recommend Aquaphor. It has mine and my Mum’s seal of approval; I use it to hydrate dry feet after hikes, and she uses it to prevent her heels from cracking.
But we’re not the only ones who love Aquaphor; Meghan Markle used it as a highlighter on her wedding day!
UreaRepair Is For Very Dry Skin
Who Is UreaRepair Perfect For? UreaRepair is for anyone who suffers with very dry skin, including skin prone to tightness, roughness, itching, flaking and redness.
What’s In The Range? UreaRepair features a number of lotions and creams for the face and body – including creams for the hands and feet – so you can quite literally treat dry skin from top to toe. It also includes a lip balm and body wash.
What Does The Range Do? Dry skin is caused by a lack of moisture and a weakened skin barrier, so UreaRepair works to lock in moisture and strengthen the skin’s natural barrier using ceramides and other lipids. And urea and other Natural Moisturising Factors (NMFs) improve the skin’s moisture content.
The range helps you achieve smooth, supple and soft skin – and even delays the symptoms of dry skin for up to 48-hours!
My Recommendation: If you want a quick, easy fix to dry skin, the UreaRepair Plus 10% Urea Lotion is a great choice. It has a smooth texture that’s perfect for larger areas of dry, rough skin; you don’t have to spend as much time massaging it in compared to a richer cream. It can even be used by those with psoriasis and keratosis pilaris.
AQUAporin Is For Dehydrated Skin
Who Is AQUAporin Perfect For? If you struggle with tight, dull and sensitive sensations, your complexion might be dehydrated – even if you don’t have dry skin. If these symptoms sound familiar, AQUAporin is the range for you.
What’s In The Range? The collection has three face creams to suit the needs of different skin types, and an ultra-hydrating eye cream.
What Does The Range Do? As the name suggests, dehydrated skin lacks water (rather than dry skin, which lacks oils and lipids). And rather than trying to overload the skin with hydrating ingredients, Eucerin’s range makes the most of the skin’s own hydration system, the Aquaporins. The result? Supple, smooth and glowing skin.
Each moisturiser offers 24-hour hydration to keep skin hydrated and glowy (without unwanted tight sensations).
My Recommendation: I’d always recommend the face cream that’s made for your skin type – the AQUAporin range has face creams for dry and sensitive skin, and normal to combination – but the AQUAporin Active for All Skin Types SPF25 is a great all-rounder. It’s my top pick and my daily face cream. I love how hydrating it is – and of course, the added benefit of SPF protection to help shield against everything from sunburn to photo-ageing – although if you are spending prolonged periods of time in the sun I’d recommend using a separate sunscreen, too.
AtoControl Is For Eczema-Prone Skin
Who Is AtoControl Perfect For? AtoControl is for anyone over the age of three months who has atopic dermatitis, the skin condition that’s commonly known as eczema, which causes dry, red and itchy skin.
What’s In The Range? The collection has a face cream, body lotion, shower oil and treatment cream.
What Does The Range Do? It’s all about restoring and maintaining comfort; together, the products reduce dryness, redness and itching.
And although it’s great to use AtoControl to relieve skin flare-ups, it’s just as important to use even when skin feels calm to help prolong the time between flare-ups. But how does it work? Anti-inflammatory Licochalcone A soothes redness and ceramides strengthen the skin barrier for cool, healthy skin.
My Recommendation: The range works really well together as a whole, so if you or a loved one suffers with eczema, it’s a good idea to invest in a few products to use in conjunction with one another. But my top pick is the AtoControl Bath and Shower Oil because I love that you can use it to help ease itchiness and replenish the skin’s natural barrier even while you’re showering. And as someone who sometimes suffers with small areas of eczema due to stress or hot weather, I know that warm showers often cause more irritation.
Who Is DermoPURIFYER Perfect For? DermoPURIFYER is designed for anyone who suffers with oiliness and blemishes.
What’s In The Range? Packed with cleansers and moisturisers, a serum, a spot cover stick, an exfoliator and a toner – DermoPURIFYER has everything you need to build a full skincare routine to target blemishes.
What Does The Range Do? It helps you achieve a clear, mattified complexion. Together, the collection helps unclog pores, clear spots, refine texture, mattify skin and control excess sebum. Some of the key ingredients are skin-soothing Licochalcone A, anti-blemish salicylic acid and sebum-regulating technology to promote a spot-free, refined look.
My Recommendation: I always struggle with breakouts on my chin, so my top pick has to be the DermoPURIFYER Cover Stick – I use this one a lot! I love the fact that it tints and masks spots – particularly as it covers the redness I struggle with during breakouts.
But, it also helps reduce spots thanks to salicylic acid. After all, why would you want your concealer to simply hide spots, when it can also target the breakout itself?
Anti-Pigment Is For Hyperpigmented Skin
Who Is Anti-Pigment Perfect For? The name sort of gives this one away! It’s for skin that suffers with hyperpigmentation – which means dark spots and uneven tones.
What’s In The Range?A serum, targeted spot corrector, and a day and night cream.
What Does The Range Do? The collection helps you achieve a more uniform, even and radiant look by reversing and preventing signs of hyperpigmentation. The secret behind the formula is Thiamidol, a powerhouse patented ingredient that helps reduce melanin production (the cause of pigmentation). It took Eucerin ten years to perfect this patent – and it’s clinically proven to reduce the appearance of dark spots and help stop them from reappearing.
My Recommendation: Out of everything I’ve learnt since working at Escentual, the most important one is to wear sunscreen. Every. Single. Day.
And so, if you’re serious about tackling hyperpigmentation, then you need to be wearing SPF daily; UV rays can cause dark spots that make skin prematurely aged! That’s why my top suggestion has to be the Anti-Pigment Day Cream SPF30
because it features Eucerin’s star ingredient, Thiamidol, and defends against future sun spots using broad-spectrum UV filters.
Hyaluron Filler Is For Ageing Skin
Who Is Hyaluron Filler Perfect For? Hyaluron Filler is for anyone with ageing skin.
To help keep your skin as youthful as possible, Eucerin has three specific ranges to meet the needs of ageing skin along the way. Hyaluron-Filler targets early signs of ageing like fine lines and wrinkles; Hyaluron-Filler + Volume-Lift restores lost volume; and lastly, Hyaluron-Filler + Elasticity plumps up deep wrinkles and improves elasticity for more mature complexions.
What’s In The Range? A huge range of eye creams, serums, day creams, night creams and much more!
What Does The Range Do? Eucerin’s anti-ageing collection addresses the common signs of ageing at each step of the way.
From as early on as your 20’s, fine lines and wrinkles can start to appear, so the Hyaluron-Filler collection uses ultra-moisturising HA to keep skin healthy, hydrated and plump – while also keeping those pesky fine lines at bay.
From our 40s, skin can start to lose volume and sag. Enter: Hyaluron-Filler + Volume-Lift. The range is driven by magnolol and oligo peptides; these help increase the size and number of volume-giving cells and strengthen the collagen network for plump, volumised skin. And don’t forget skin-hydrating hyaluronic acid.
When we’re into our 50s, we often suffer with a loss of elasticity and firmness. But Eucerin’s Hyaluron-Filler + Elasticity range centres around both high and low molecular hyaluronic acid and arctiin to plump deep wrinkles and boost collagen renewal for firm, smooth skin.
My Recommendation: We all need a pamper night every now and then, and for me, it wouldn’t be a relaxing evening if I didn’t have a face mask! That’s why my top recommendation is the Hyaluron-Filler Hyaluron Intensive Mask; suitable for all skin types, it deeply moisturises skin and helps reduce fine lines in minutes. Say hello to a fresh, dewy glow. And I’ll admit, even though I’m not targeting ageing too much just yet, I still love this mask all the same.
Q10 Active Is Anti-Ageing Care For Sensitive Skin
Who Is Q10 Active Perfect For? Q10 Active is ideal for those with sensitive skin – and anyone who also wants to defend against premature ageing.
What’s In The Range? A day cream for dry skin, a day cream for normal to combination skin, and a night cream.
What Does The Range Do? It helps prevent signs of ageing – but it’s still kind to sensitive skin. The range boasts a number of antioxidants to defend against free radical damage, which leads to premature ageing. It also helps to maintain a more youthful complexion as Coenzyme Q10 smoothes fine lines and wrinkles.
My Recommendation: For me, the Q10 Active Night Cream takes the top spot for this range. It has a rich texture that feels comforting as you apply it, while the formula is also fragrance-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, artificial colourant-free and non-comedogenic to respect sensitive skin.
Anti-Redness Is For Flushed, Red Skin
Who Is Anti-Redness Perfect For? If you struggle with hypersensitive skin that can turn red, the Anti-Redness range is ideal for you.
What’s In The Range? A soothing moisturiser and a concealing face cream.
What Does The Range Do? It helps comfort, cool and relieves redness-prone skin using SymSitive, which instantly calms and soothes the complexion. And it also helps reduce signs of redness using Licochalcone A, a natural anti-inflammatory ingredient.
My Recommendation: Although red skin can be annoying enough just due to the hot sensations and irritating feeling it can cause, it can also take its toll on your confidence. So, Eucerin’s Anti-Redness Concealing Day Cream SPF25 has been designed to not only cool and soothe skin, but to also even out tone and mask signs of flushing thanks to its subtle green tint.
UltraSensitive Is For Hypersensitive Skin
Who Is UltraSensitive Perfect For? If you struggle with hypersensitive skin but you don’t struggle with signs of redness, UltraSensitive is a great choice.
What’s In The Range? A daily moisturiser for normal to combination skin, and a moisturiser for dry skin.
What Does The Range Do? It works in a similar way to the Anti-Redness range as UltraSensitive centres around SymSitive, an innovative active ingredient that regulates sensitivity to instantly soothe skin.
My Recommendation: Hypersensitive skin can sometimes be further irritated if your skin is also naturally dry, which is why I love the UltraSensitive Soothing Care Dry Skin face cream. It offers an intense soothing sensation to hypersensitive skin but also helps to protect the skin barrier over time – which will also benefit your dry skin!
DermoCapillaire Is For A Healthy Scalp
Who Is DermoCapillaire Perfect For? DermoCapillaire is made for anyone with a dry, itchy scalp.
What’s In The Range? A shampoo and scalp treatment.
What Does The Range Do? The collection soothes skin and reduces itchiness in the scalp using intensely moisturising ingredients like urea and lactate, which the body naturally produces to keep skin healthy and nourished.
My Recommendation: Using a caring shampoo is an important skincare step if you suffer with a dry, itchy scalp – so that’s why I would recommend the DermoCapillaire Calming Urea Shampoo – 5% Urea. The clear, lathering gel gently cleanses hair of a common buildup of dirt, but it also soothes and eases itchiness – and not forgetting the fact that it leaves your lock shiny and supple.
Sun Is For Everyone
Who Is Sun Perfect For? Eucerin’s Sun collection is perfect for everyone – because we all need to be wearing sunscreen every day to keep our skin as healthy as possible and to also protect against photoaging.
What’s In The Range? An impressive range of high-tech sunscreens and a cooling after-sun.
What Does The Range Do? Keeps you safe in the sun! Eucerin’s sunscreens centre around an innovative Advanced Spectral Technology. This combines broad-band and photostable UVA/UVB filters with antioxidant Licochalcone A – so skin is guarded against everything from sunburn, skin damage and photoaging caused by both UV rays and high-energy visible light. And fear not, they offer a selection of sunscreens to cater to your skin’s needs – think anti-shine SPF for oily skin, and nurturing sunscreen sprays for kids with sensitive skin.
My Recommendation: Of all the ranges, I found this one was the most difficult one to recommend – maybe that’s because there are so many, or people I know who have been impressed with so many of them! But for me, the Sensitive Protect Sun Fluid Mattifying SPF50+ has caught my eye. It offers SPF 50+ protection so you’re optimally protected, but I also love the fact that it doesn’t leave an oily or greasy finish – so even those with oilier complexions can wear a daily sunscreen without issue and it’s great for wearing underneath makeup.
