As soon as you spray L’Interdit Rouge, it smells unmistakably like L’interdit but with a simmering undertone of a hot spicy red accord and tart Sicilian blood orange. The fiery top leads into the iconic white floral heart – that remains unchanged from the original – which features Tunisian orange blossom absolute and Indian sambac jasmine absolute. As the Eau de Parfum wears on the skin, it burns into a warm base of earthy Indonesian patchouli heart essence and New Caledonian sandalwood essence for a sultry, addictive tone.
What’s The Story Behind This Scent?
Forbidden red stains every aspect of this spicy woody white floral; there’s a focus on the orange blossom note from the original, but a new hot ginger tone lingers throughout through every level of the fragrance, thanks to the searing-hot spicy red facet that’s also laced with pimento leaf. The Rouge edition keeps Audrey Hepburn’s classic L’Interdit alive in the heart, but reinvigorates the iconic white floral composition with a sweet spiciness that feels incredibly sexy!

For me, this one smells the most unique compared to the ones that have come before due to its total vibe change; it’s gone from chic floral to spicy-sexiness. The L’Interdit is still there, but it’s been set on fire and distorted, giving off a glowing heat that’s perfect for an unforgettable date night.

I sprayed this in the morning at work and could smell it by lunchtime (but it was admittedly a lot tamer by then), so I topped it up for a more intense scent.
