The Gimme Brow + Volumising Pencil Formula
The Gimme Brow Gel is an icon, known for adding realistic hairs with every stroke, so it’s no surprise the pencil version is also designed to add hair-like volume. The latest addition to Benefit’s brow collection, the Gimme Brow Pencil features a powder formula in an easy-to-use pencil format. It’s enriched with pigment and tiny fibres – in fact, it’s the first-ever brow pencil to feature fibres and powder in one.
Its formula clings to your hairs for added volume and natural-looking hair texture, which can be styled by the spoolie at the end. The formula is transfer-proof and waterproof for 12 hours, so it keeps your brows looking full no matter what. It’s available in 12 natural shades too.

Sparse Brows
As our resident beautiful blonde, Chelsey showcases the lighter end of the Gimme Brow Pencil and how incredible the pencil is at volumising sparse brows…
What’s your brow type?
“My brows are bushy, but also sparse. I keep them quite low maintenance and see a brow technician around 4 times a year to keep them in shape, and not too wild!”
Which shade have you used?
“I dabble between 2 and 2.5 but, since introducing more of my natural colour through my hair, 2.5’s warmth seems to be the best match.”
What was your experience with the Gimme Brow Pencil?
“I usually use Precisely, My Brow as I have gaps to fill and I like the bushy, natural look; I prefer to see hairs and not colour. I was intrigued by Benefit’s Gimme Brow Pencil as it promised natural texture. I don’t know how they’ve done it, but it doesn’t mask my brows, even though the pencil is thicker. That could be down to me getting the colour right: 2.5 is a perfect match.
The pencil’s formula is almost like a powdery-chalk that magics up thickness. I’ll be honest, I wouldn’t recommend this pencil for filling in major gaps; for me, it excels at bulking out the volume of my brows.
I found it quicker to apply than the Precisely, My Brow Pencil, but that could be down to the fact that Precisely, My Brow’s thin tip requires a little more time. The Gimme Brow Pencil is my perfect day brow product as it’s not harsh like most pencils. For a night out, I’ve been pairing it with PMB and setting with the Benefit Brow Setter and I can say the texture lasts and lasts! Now I need to try it with the Gimme Brow Gel…”
Fine Brows
The added fibres in the Gimme Brow Pencil appealed to Hannah straight away; her fine brows are the perfect candidate to allow the pencil to work its magic…
What’s your brow type?
“Just like the hair on my head, my eyebrows are incredibly fine – I have a lot of hair but they look a bit thin and lack volume.”
Which shade have you used?
“Usually I wear shade 4.5 in Benefit brow products but, as my hair is lighter now, this time I tried shade 4 for a touch more warmth.”
What was your experience with the Gimme Brow Pencil?
“I’m thrilled to say I’ve found my go-to brow pencil in Gimme Brow! I am honestly quite lazy when it comes to makeup and want something fool-proof that I can apply in a rush. The Gimme Brow Pencil has a thicker tip than the Precisely, My Brow Pencil but it still applies a very light amount of product, so your brows don’t end up looking like a block. I love the spoolie on the end as it’s quite dense so it really blends away any mistakes for a natural look. I like to add a bit more of an arch to my straight brows – the Gimme Brow Pencil does this without leaving a harsh line or without looking obvious that it’s not my real brow shape.”
Full Brows
Keavy already has pretty naturally flawless full brows, so we were intrigued to see how she got on with Gimme Brow…
What’s your brow type?
“I’m pretty happy with my natural brows – they’re generally pretty full and defined, so I wanted to test out the volumising Gimme Brow Pencil to see what difference it would make.”
Which shade have you used?
“As someone who works in beauty, it may surprise you to know that I normally only use clear eyebrow gel to style my brows; a brow pencil is a first for me, and matching my shade was a lot easier than I expected – I used shade 4.5.”
What was your experience with the Gimme Brow Pencil?
“The Benefit Gimme Brow Pencil made me realise how my brows could look after a little added definition. Its finish looked natural; it enhanced my eyebrows without being too overdone or bold, which is the reason I haven’t branched out to a pencil in the past – I was afraid my brow would look overdone! For times when I’m looking for a more made-up glamorous makeup look, I’ll opt for the Benefit Gimme Brow Pencil but, for day-to-day, I’ll stick to my Benefit 24-Hr Brow Setter.”
Thick Brows
Darcey’s eyebrow arch is enough to make anyone jealous so, for her, Gimme Brow was tasked with filling in the gaps amongst her dark hairs…
What’s your brow type?
“I have naturally dark, full brows.”
Which shade have you used?
“As my brows are naturally dark, I opted for shade 6 – I love how well it matched my natural hair colour.”
What was your experience with the Gimme Brow Pencil?
“As my eyebrows are already so full, it can be difficult to find an eyebrow pencil that looks natural. But that’s what I liked about the Benefit Gimme Brow Pencil – it didn’t overdone. It contains small fibres that’s ideal for filling in small gaps; I have a slight slit in my left eyebrow, which disappeared when I used the Gimme Brow to fill it in.
I especially loved how the formula added extra depth to my eyebrows – it’s great to achieve the trending bushier look. But what I loved the most had to be its dual-sided applicator; the brush allowed me to carry the formula through my brows to create a no-makeup makeup look.”
