The He-Shi Exfoliating Body Wash, £8.97, contains AHA’s, the perfect ingredient for preparing your skin before tanning whilst helping your tan fade evenly, and is best used 3 days after tanning. Never use a moisturiser before applying self tan, as the tan will not take. Do use some for those tricky dry areas where product can collect, though – try He-Shi Souffle Moisturiser, £10.25, which you can also use afterwards to prolong your tan.
When is comes to tanning products this brand is at the top of their game, they have a liquid tan, a gradual tanner and a one day wash off tan. The Liquid Express Tan, from £17.89, is amazing and is already getting the beauty press buzzing. The colour is so natural and works with all skin tones. Remember though – when it comes to application, apply with a mitt and remember that a little goes along way! It’s also a fool-proof ‘see a go’ formulation that is tinted brown, so no risk of unsightly streaking or tell-tale white patches.
If you want a deeper tan, simply apply a second layer. Layering is very important when applying self tan, as this helps your tan fade evenly and last longer. The He-Shi Day to Day Gradual Tan, £12.39, has a light colour build and is great to top up your tan post holiday.

He Shi Express Liquid Tan 150ml
I love He-Shi, as it's easy to use and best of all doesn't smell horrid! My husband always complains when I use fake tans - moaning that I smell of 'biscuits' and it's obvious that I've used fake tan due to the smell. Well not with He-Shi - it doesn't have that smell, so you don't have to be paranoid that somebody will sniff you out! I use it with the mitt, which is perfect as you can get a really easy all over tan. And the fact it's coloured means that you can see where it's going. Be warned - it's very runny - so put the mitt on and make a cup with your hand. Pour some liquid into the cupped-mitt so you don't spill any. Let it soak into the mitt a bit (I find scrunching you hand up tighter usually does the trick) and then apply just by rubbing the mitt up and down your skin. That way it won't run down your leg (or worse onto the floor). It's really nice and easy to apply (and with the mitt I can also convince my husband to do my back - as he knows he won't get his hands dirty!)
