As Fresh as a Breeze.. India Hicks Island Living

When the weather warmed up last weekend I had a bit of a beauty field day: I brought all of my old summer scents out from their hiding places and have been rotating them ever since. I make no apologies for jumping the summer gun, because it helped me to rediscover an old favourite of mine: Crabtree & Evelyn India Hicks Island Living Eau de Toilette.

I’m not sure what I expected before I sampled it for the first time, but I wasn’t expecting something quite so unique and delicious. I normally plump for outwardly fruity scents for the summer, so wearing this is always a lovely change – quenching, soft, and floral, with little touches of tropical citruses that lift the fragrance beautifully. Its composition of Spider Lily Bloom, Citrus, Orange Blossom, Night Blooming Jasmine, Palm Leaves, and Sea Air is a combination of notes that create the overall impression of a true tropical paradise – the sea, the sand, and the exotic blooms.

As a fan of the scent, I’ve tried pretty much all of the body products, too. By far the most unmissable products are the Body Lotion, the Fragrance Diffuser and the Bath Salts. The lotion is completely refreshing and contains components of the India Hicks Island Living fragrance, so when you spray the Eau de Toilette on top, the smell is just incredible. The fragrance diffuser is something special; its gorgeous  inkwell glass bottle is filled with bleached white shells and the distinctive Island Living fragrance. The presentation box is gorgeous, too – inspired by the pistol case that belonged to India’s great-grandfather. My favourite of the three has to be the bath salts, though. Highly infused with scent, the Epsom and sea salt crystals are infused with tropical oils so that skin is left seriously soft after stepping out of the bath. The scent is so unreal that I once filled a little plastic bag with some of the salts and used them as a car freshener!
