As the launch date of one of the most hotly anticipated scents of the year is just around the corner, I’ve been given the go ahead to chat a little bit about it and relieve some of my excited tension. Prepare yourselves for the glorious Prada Candy, an unexpectedly playful fragrance from the Italian purveyor of haute luxury.

The scent is described as “a hedonist’s dream”, a luxurious and impulsive fragrance that reveals a new facet of Prada femininity. The pure indulgence of the scent lies in its excessive ingredients: a cocktail of sheer Musks, an overdose of vanilla-scented honeyed Benzoin, and a twist of joyful Caramel.  This blend is sweet but not overly so. Rather, it is hypnotic and addictive, a striking oriental gourmand fragrance with a sophisticated character.

Face of the fragrance is the new starlet of French cinema Léa Seydoux, a provocative girl with supreme confidence. Like Léa, the Prada Candy bottle is bold and unconventional with a luxurious edge. A band of shocking pink Saffiano leather hugs the top of the bottle, bearing the refined Prada logo in sleek gold lettering. The pump, perched on its golden neck like a shiny black half moon, is the striking finale.

Prada Candy is released on the 29th August, and is available for pre-order from the 22nd August.
