Dior Autumn Makeup Collection 2011 ‘Blue Tie’

Another autumn makeup release that has gotten us excited this week is the latest Dior offering ‘Blue Tie’, a collection of moody blue eyes and pink pouts that are a refreshing twist on the usual muted hues showcased at this time of year.

The star product of the collection is the beautiful Dior Evening Essentials Smoky Eyes and Nude Lips Palette, £49.55, a beautiful compact that contains a quartet of matte and shimmering eyeshadows inspired by the fabric of a tuxedo. Create a strong smoky eye with the harmonising hues, and then slide the secret compartment across to reveal a surprise: a nude lip gloss that is the perfect accompaniment to your seductive eyes.

Dior 3 Couleurs Smoky Palette, £30.50
The focus of this collection is most definitely the eyes, which are smoked up using a range of navy and grey-blue hues for a pop of brightening colour. The Dior 3 Couleurs Smoky Palette in 291 Smoky Navy is the perfect tool for this, containing three harmonious shadow shades each with a different texture:  matte navy, iridescent denim, and satiny powder blue. This allows you to truly customise your eye makeup and blend colours together to achieve your perfect smoked-out look.

Diorshow Waterproof Long-lasting Backstage Eyeliner, £16.20
If you’d prefer a more everyday approach to a beautiful blue smoke, the new Diorshow Waterproof Long-lasting Backstage Eyeliner in 179 Marine Navy is the tool for you. The ultra soft and blendable formulation lets you precisely define your eyes without fuss, and then stays put all day long. Line both the upper and lower lashline, and blend away.

Dior Blush, £27.00
With such a strong eye, you’ll need to soften your makeup elsewhere. The gorgeous 839 Vintage Pink (rose/shimmering peach) and 889 Pink In Love (true pink/blush) Dior Blush shades are the perfect accompaniments, bestowing a gentle and beautiful flush to the cheeks.

Rouge Dior, £21.50
Serum de Rouge Lip Treatment, £24.00
There is a wealth of new lip colour available, too, with 314 Angelique Beige (peachy nude), 428 Pisanelle Pink (muted rose pink), 651 Tourbillon Pink (true pink) and 741 Allegro Pink (plum pink) heading up the full coverage Rouge Dior camp, and the brand new 215 Primrose Crystal (peachy beige), 455 Tea Rose Crystal (fleshy rose pink), 345 Coral Crystal (orange-pink coral), 645 Sweet Pink Crystal (rose beige), 675 Passionate Pink Crystal (true pink), 855 Carmine Crystal (red pink) shades in the nourishing and super shiny Serum de Rouge Lip Treatment.

Dior Vernis, £16.50
Dior rounds off the look with my favourite product from the collection: Dior Vernis in 607 Blue Denim (bright cobalt) and Anne Hathaway’s favourite 908 Tuxedo (shimmering indigo metallic). These stand-out limited edition shades are fashion forward, and look so striking on the nails – the perfect end to a completely gorgeous collection.
