Dior Homme Review

Dior Homme is a pillar of the Dior’s men’s fragrance collection thanks to its unique blend of tradition and modernity. Described as “powdery woody floral, luxurious and resolutely masculine: a new generation classic”, it’s a fragrance that promises much, and certainly delivers!

Here’s what Alan, head of Digital Marketing at Escentual and long-term wearer of Dior Homme, had to say:

“Jude Law and myself have a couple of things in common: receding hairlines, an affiliation with Dior Homme and a successful acting career. Well, two out of three is a start.

It’s well known at Escentual HQ that I’m a fan of Dior Homme Intense, or any Dior Homme fragrance really, so when asked to write down some thoughts about it, I couldn’t say no!

So, Dior Homme Intense starts out powdery and sweet, almost like make-up (for the record, I was informed of that comparison by others!) But it’s well worth the initial feminine note as they hide the secrets that the fragrance contains.

As the hours pass the scent changes and becomes smoother, hints of cocoa and vanilla start to appear before they take the lead into the dry down phase. Until then the iris and cedar notes lead the way and bring back the masculine side to the fragrance after the initial powdery opening. At the very tail end of the dry down there are still hints of vanilla, but you do have to get close to the skin at that stage to smell it.

It has amazing longevity, probably the best out of the fragrances I own. I am comparing that to Guerlain L’Instant de Guerlain Pour Extreme and Amouage Reflection. I easily get over 10-12 hours of wear from Dior Homme Intense whatever the season.

I’ve had my bottle for about a year and it definitely works better in my opinion during autumn and winter. An amazing sophisticated, warm woody fragrance. I can’t recommend it enough!”

Oh this sounds divine… tempted to get it for my husband for Christmas – I too love most Dior Homme but haven’t tried this one. Thanks for the review!
