If you’re already a fan of Clarins, you’ll know that they truly bring their A-game when it comes to fusing skincare benefits with a beautiful finish. The innovative ingredients aren’t just limited to their skincare – rare plant extracts and active ingredients are found throughout their make-up offering too, and Clarins have used this expertise on their newest launch: the Clarins HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer, a revamp of the former tinted moisturiser of the same name.

Clarins HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer SPF15 Line Up

This colour extension of Clarins’ popular HydraQuench range for dehydrated skin is optimised to deliver serious moisture. Using the same key ingredient as the rest of the range, fair trade Katafray Bark, plus plenty of plumping Hyaluronic Acid and Sorbier Bud, the Tinted Moisturizer is wonderfully quenching. This intensive cocktail of ingredients works to improve the radiance of your skin, stimulating the and boosting its internal mechanisms to allow it to better protect itself against moisture loss. It also has a medium-protection SPF of 15 to shield skin against the prematurely ageing effects of UV exposure.

And as those skincare benefits are at work banishing dullness, colour pigments and iridescent pearls instantly boost radiance on the surface. Each of the six key shades are shot through with these flattering, light diffusing copper-pink particles.

The colour line-up isn’t your typical light-to-dark order, and you’ll need to identify your skin’s tone before choosing your colour. The first three – 00 Porcelain, 01 Sand and 02 Honey – are slightly more pink toned, while the latter three – 03 Peach, 04 Blond and 05 Gold – are a touch more yellow.

The finish of the HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer is satisfyingly dewy, as you can see from the swatch above. There’s no wishy-washy coverage here, which is a common complaint made about tinted skincare. It manages to strike the perfect balance between lightness and substance, offering a glowing and even finish that allows the unique texture of your skin to show through. The tactile texture creates a fine mesh on your skin akin to a really fresh and lightweight foundation, and, most importantly – it’s so comfortable!

It’s a big thumbs up from me.

  • These look lush dear Emma! Such a good review! 🙂

It’s the most dewy tinted moisturiser, ever! I do like a Clarins base 🙂

      • I am craving anything Clarins right now! You will be the “culprit” when I replenish my Clarins stash 😉

  • Francesca Ward

I used an old version of the tinted moisturiser when I was a teen and not allowed to wear foundation and I loved it. I have been wanting to try it again and this review has made me excited to get it again. It sounds brilliant! Thank you 🙂

That’s amazing – what a luxe choice for a teen! The formula is truly lovely; if you loved it before, I think you’ll be head over heels now 🙂

  • Lauren Reeves

I really want to try a tinted moisturiser, unfortunately most tinted/foundation-like products are too yellow or dark for my skin tone, even the lightest shade 🙁

Clarins actually took this common complaint on board and produced a fairer shade with this collection, 00 Porcelain. I can wear it and I’m 103 in Clarins foundations, 110 in Dior and NC15/20 in MAC, for reference 🙂
