GUERLAIN Insolence Eau de Toilette Review

The GUERLAIN Legendary fragrance collection is home to an array of timeless perfumes which have transformed the modern world of fragrance. A more recent addition to the lineup, Insolence Eau de Toilette was created in 2006 as an audacious celebration of the violet. The perfect way to put a spring in your step, GUERLAIN Insolence Eau de Toilette is a playful fruity-floral with a delectable powdery tone that takes on a life of its own…

This Fragrance Smells Like…

Celebrating the powdery tones of violet and iris, GUERLAIN’s Eau de Toilette is laced with a touch of wild strawberries, which adds a playful sweetness to the scent after the violet top has settled. The voluptuous heart also showcases a fresh orange blossom accord to complete Insolence’s sweet fruity-floral tone before the powdery iris base reveals a beautiful velvety smoothness as it’s warmed through by a delicious vanillary undertone.

What’s The Story Behind This Scent?

Insolence Eau de Toilette embodies a feeling, a persona of careless grace and amused smirks. Created in 2006, the bold and confident modern woman is celebrated as Insolence embodies spontaneous femininity.

You Will Love This If…

If you love fragrances that trigger an emotional feeling, you’ll love Insolence Eau de Toilette. The powdery fruity-florals act like a flashback to your childhood when you’re caught sneaking parma violets from the cupboard, before settling into an elegant and sophisticated tone with a slight playful edge to honour the woman you are today.

This Perfume Smells Similar To:

To me, GUERLAIN Insolence Eau de Toilette has an underlying memory attached to it… the smell of parma violets. Insolence also comes as an Eau de Parfum, which smells similar but the EDP is more powdery as it has a stronger violet presence. In comparison, the Eau de Toilette is lighter and brighter whilst the orange blossom remains more prominent.

Is Insolence Eau de Toilette Unisex?

Insolence Eau de Toilette is portrayed as a daring and feminine scent, created to celebrate the modern woman. Its floral sweetness makes it a traditionally feminine aroma – although any powdery floral or parma violet lover will enjoy Insolence Eau de Toilette.

What’s The Longevity Like?

Don’t be fooled by Insolence’s Eau de Toilette concentration; it’s incredibly long-lasting. I applied it in the morning and could still smell an ever-so-subtle sweetness by the time I went to bed.

What’s Special About The Bottle?

Insolence Eau de Toilette is showcased in the iconic GUERLAIN ‘inverted heart’ glass flacon, just like all other Legendary fragrances, but Insolence stands out due to its bold pink perfume. The pink hue adds a contemporary feel to the classic, regal bottle, allowing the art nouveau scrolls and elegant glass stopper to take on a new lease of life.
