HUGO BOSS BOSS The Scent Le Parfum Review

HUGO BOSS BOSS The Scent Le Parfum Review

If you’re a HUGO BOSS fan, you’re going to want to hear all about their latest fragrance for men: BOSS The Scent Le Parfum. A recent addition to their iconic The Scent line, Le Parfum is a suave and sensuous take on the beloved ambery signature scent, releasing a fruity-spicy warmth that’s hard to resist.

This Fragrance Smells Like…

This bold but sophisticated scent is an intense reimagining of the iconic BOSS The Scent Eau de Toilette. If you’re a fan of the original fragrance, you’ll recognise many of the same notes here – but this time, the sensuality has been amped right up.

Le Parfum blends a hot and exciting ginger note with an exotic Maninka fruit accord to start, creating a surprisingly fruity tone with a seriously spicy and seductive side to it, drawing you in and leaving you wanting more. The maninka fruit is said to be an aphrodisiac, after all!

As The Scent Le Parfum’s initial notes wear on the skin, the heart of precious iris softens the scent in a way that’s both sexy and comforting. Finally, the deeply masculine leather base that set the senses alight in HUGO BOSS’s earlier The Scent is recaptured here, adding an addictive warmth to this inviting fragrance. It’s a scent that you’ll want to spray onto your wrist so you can sneakily breathe it in throughout the day, purely for your own enjoyment.

What’s The Story Behind This Scent?

The original HUGO BOSS The Scent for men is all about seduction – and that’s a theme that’s definitely carried through to Le Parfum. Just like its predecessor, The Scent Le Parfum for him is the type of fragrance that makes an impact; it’s powerful and it’s addictive, but it’s also incredibly wearable. All in all, it’s mastered the balance between strength and softness.

You Will Love This If…

If you fell in love with BOSS The Scent when it first launched back in 2015 – or any of its subsequent flankers, for that matter – then you’ll love this HUGO BOSS fragrance. It’s a richer, bolder, and more intense take on the original.

This Perfume Smells Similar To:

Of course, BOSS The Scent Le Parfum is best compared to the original Eau de Toilette. But how does it differ from its predecessor? In terms of its note structure, it’s actually relatively similar; the only key change is that the maninka fruit lies at the heart of the original, whereas it’s added at the top here so you can enjoy its unique fruity qualities – which are often compared to a delicious blend of rum and passion fruit – even earlier. The original’s lavender heart is also swapped out for iris here, but it doesn’t overpower the scent or release an overly powdery tone. Instead, it works by softening the fragrance to encourage an ultra-smooth descent into that addictive leather base.

Is HUGO BOSS BOSS The Scent Le Parfum Unisex?

HUGO BOSS BOSS The Scent Le Parfum is deemed a masculine fragrance. However, at Escentual we believe that you should wear whatever fragrance makes you feel happy and confident, no matter who it’s marketed towards. If you do, however, prefer to buy fragrances based on gender, then I would say this comes across as a typically masculine fragrance, especially due to its rich leathery tones. If you prefer sweeter, juicier perfumes, then I’d definitely recommend checking out The Scent Le Parfum’s feminine counterpart: The Scent For Her Le Parfum.

What’s The Longevity Like?

BOSS The Scent Le Parfum for him is incredibly long-lasting; when I spritzed it on my wrist at around 8am, I could still smell its soft leathery side by around 5pm.

What’s Special About The Bottle?

The bottle is a deeper, darker twist on the original, just like the scent. It’s lacquered in a sensual shade of taupe and set within a matte rose gold cage, which the fragrance bursts out of in one powerful spritz.
