Every spring, I await the launch of Dior’s summer collection with bated breath. It never disappoints, and summer 2022 is no exception. The French Riviera inspires the Dioriviera Summer Look; the bronzed hues, glistening finishes, and luxe packaging pay homage to a season of backing in the skin. From solar eyeshadow hues to sun kissed bronzers, this limited edition line-up may be the closest I get to the French Riviera this year, but the products are so beautiful that I’m OK with that – here’s a closer look…
1. Dior Forever Natural Bronze
The Dior Forever Natural Bronze is pressed with the Dioriviera limited-edition motif for summer 2022. Don’t miss this special edition if you’re a fan of this bronzer; you may never get it again. The chicest face powder I have ever seen, this bronzing powder’s luxurious packaging, with seams and CD logo, takes cues from Dior’s fashion designs – it’s almost too beautiful to use.
The formula is made from 95% natural-origin ingredients, including wild pansy extract, which helps keep skin hydrated to stop bronzer from looking patchy. Available in two shades, matte bronze and warm bronze, it has a matte finish and is extremely easy to blend into the skin, offering a natural, sun kissed finish.
2. Dior 5 Couleurs Couture
Smouldering eyes were brief, and Peter Philips delivered. The iconic 5 Couleurs Couture eyeshadow palette is now available in 2 new, limited edition shimmery colourways. 479 Bayadere contains a warmer selection of neutral corals and bronze hues, whereas 779 Riviera is slightly cooler with a selection of more muted beige shades and plum-brown colours.
3. Dior Addict Lip Tint
If there French Rivieria were a lip finish, this would be it! The Dior Addict Lip Tint offer lip colour, but in a very pared-back way; there’s nothing try-hard about this collection – it’s effortless. The Lip Tints feel like nothing on, are transfer-proof, lasting 12 hours, and hydrate your lips while you wear them – a dreamy combination. The finish is semi-matte; there’s no sparkle or shimmer, just a result that looks like your lips are super healthy and plump.
There are 12 shades, everything from a muted brown-beige to vivacious coral pink – something for everyone!
4. Dior Rouge Dior Coloured Lip Balm
An essential in every summer makeup bag is lip balm. The Rouge Dior Balm‘s universal shade is already a must-have for many, but for this season, Dior’s unveiled two new additions; 633 Coral Satin and 726 B bronze Satin. As the name suggests, they both have satin finishes and offer the same lip-caring benefits of the original, plus a subtle pop of colour.
5. Dior Vernis
When I think of a ‘Dior woman’, she is never without a chic manicure and pedicure, especially on the French Riviera. The Dioriviera collection has three Dior Vernis nail lacquer hues available, 440 Riviera, a peach-pink nude; 633 Bayadere, a vibrant coral orange-red; and 720 Golden Hour, a beige-gold. Like all Vernis formulas, the nail polishes are infused with peony and pistachio extracts to care for the health of the nails and offer gorgeous shine.
