Annick Goutal Eau d'Hadrien Eau de Parfum Review

Goutal Eau d’Hadrien Eau de Parfum has been around since 1981. Now the two bottles have a beautiful new facelift – think classic luxury with a vintage touch. The two new bottles both contain the same lemony fresh scent that you know and love with d’Hadrien, but the curved women’s style is now adorned with an elegant golden ribbon bow. The classic masculine style has more golden accents with a new luxurious pattern underneath Eau d’Hadrien. Both new bottles contain the same unisex scent, so it’s up to you which style you want to display in your fragrance collection…

This Fragrance Smells Like…

Bright, fresh citrus rules d’Hadrien, bursting out of the bottle with a rush of zesty bergamot, Sicilian lemon, citron and sweet grapefruit for a glorious combination of sweetness and tartness. The heart continues the citrus love affair, with Italian green mandarin and juniper berries deepening the fruity feel. Then the clean, crisp musk comes in at the base to create a slight creamy warmth by blending ylang-ylang and herbaceous cypress. Overall, the scent is a powerhouse of zesty citrus with pops of greenery throughout.

What’s The Story Behind This Scent?

In 1981, Annick Goutal was inspired by the hottest day in Tuscany. The Eau de Parfum captures the sunny scent to brighten your emotions at any time of day.

You Will Love This If…

If you love lemony fresh scents, then d’Hadrien is the scent for you. It’s instantly energising and uplifting, creating a clean, fresh feel that catches your attention from the very first sniff – you can’t help but inhale it deeply.

This Perfume Smells Similar To:

d’Hadrien Eau de Parfum is similar to the Eau de Toilette but with a stronger, more intense dry down. Both versions are centred around citrus, but the Eau de Parfum has more aromatic green tones to give the citrus power and enhanced longevity.

Is Goutal Eau d’Hadrien Eau de Parfum Unisex?

The vibrant citrus nature creates a universal unisex scent and can be enjoyed by anyone looking for a crisp burst of citrus. The same unisex fragrance is housed in two different bottles, one with a beautiful golden bow which is considered the feminine version, and one with a more squared shape and gold accents, marketed as the version for him.

What’s The Longevity Like?

The initial tart citrus deepens as you wear the scent for an aroma that lasts around 6 hours.

What’s Special About The Bottle?

The 2022 bottle designs are elegant and chic, with a vintage twist. The golden bow on the feminine version mirrors a luxurious gift sitting proudly on your dressing table. The ‘for men’ version has no bow but amplified golden accents and a subtle black striped label amongst the carved glass design. Both designs arrive in a white presentation box with the Goutal logo embossed in gold.
