Clarins Relaxing Bath & Shower Concentrate Review

Clarins Relaxing Bath & Shower Concentrate Review

After emptying Clarins Relaxing Bath & Shower Concentrate, I discovered it’s more than a shower gel.

It’s a stress reliever and muscle relaxer; it has become one of my favourite ways to unwind. If you’re new to Clarins, and the Aroma collection that this body wash belongs to, it’s time to find out what your shower time is missing…

Why The Team Were Excited To Try It:

What Does It Do?

After researching, I discovered that the shower concentrate is a body wash that can also be used as a bath soak and a muscle treatment. From personal experience, the gel turns your bathroom into a spa (without the mood lighting) with its calming aroma.

You wouldn’t tell from the packaging, but it also helps to ease muscle aches and relax a busy mind.

How Does It Do It?

It has specific aromatherapeutic benefits that help soothe, ease and relax the mind and body. Sensitive skin types can use it too, as it contains 96% natural origin ingredients.

Here are the noteworthy ones:

  • Firming Organic horse chestnut helps to tone the skin.
  • Calming lavender and a comforting blend of herbs like basil, gentian and geranium relax your mind and ease tension.
  • Soothing elderflower and chamomile extracts calm irritation.
  • Moisturising Glycerin, a humectant, keeps moisture locked in for longer.

Full ingredients:

What The Team Thought After They Tried It:

What Does It Smell Like?

It’s not the standard lavender scent that can sometimes smell fuddy. This body wash smells and feels fresh. When you first squeeze the gel, you get hit with the crisp, clean and rejuvenating scent of orange. The softness of lavender is mixed with herbal notes of geranium, camomile and elderberry to relax your mind and muscles.

What Does It Foam Like?

When you use it as a bath soak and squirt it under running water, you’ll notice it doesn’t foam, as well as when you squirt it into wet balms and massage the body.

The lather feels soft and luxurious; it smells and feels like an expensive body wash as it’s soft on the skin. It almost feels slightly oily but not greasy. It also gives the skin a subtle hydrated feel as you dry off.

How Do I Use It?

You can combine any of these application methods to get the best results for you.

In the bath

Pour a small amount into the bathtub and run the warm water for use in the bath. Massage the lather onto the skin as you inhale the aromatic benefits of the steam.
For use in the shower: Pour a small amount onto hands, washcloth or sponge. Massage onto damp skin. Rinse.

In the shower

I like to apply it to damp hands, or a damp bath scrunchine and rub it all over in upwards, circular motions, then rinse off.

On your muscles

When your skin is dry, massage the gel into any areas that feel tight or uncomfortable, leave for 5-10 minutes and then shower or bath it off.
