This Fragrance Smells Like…
Zafferano has a light, airy aroma. Clean is the ideal adjective for this unisex fragrance; it’s the fragrance interpretation of a crisp white linen shirt. The opening starts as you’d expect any Acqua di Parma scent, with bright citrus notes before a sophisticated injection of white florals and saffron. It’s not saffron as you know it, it smells soft, almost violet-like, merging with vanilla in the base to offer a luminous interpretation of the note.
What’s The Story Behind This Scent?
Zafferano is part of the Signatures of the Sun collection – each fragrance in this range celebrates an individual ingredient. For this one, Zafferano or saffron is in the spotlight. The ingredient is also known as ‘red gold’ in Iran, where it’s cultivated. The saffron flowers bloom only once a year in autumn and are picked by hand, and to harvest 1kg, you need over 15,000 flowers.
