Paco Rabanne Phantom Parfum Review

Paco Rabanne Phantom Parfum Review

The futuristic Phantom fragrance range from Paco Rabanne has a new flanker. Phantom Parfum is the latest version, following on from Phantom Eau de Toilette, a fresh-seductive scent that paired citrus notes, lavender and vanilla. The Parfum brings something new to the line-up, and this review has all the details…

This Fragrance Smells Like…

Phantom is a bold fragrance for men that is addictive and seductive. The opening is sweet and almost tart-like – you can smell hints of the rhubarb accord from the offset. In the heart, it smells clean and bright but not as fresh or earthy as the original. The heart is where the fragrance comes into its own; the vanilla is dialled up in the Parfum and combined with vetiver to create a long-lasting dry down that is mysterious and masculine.

What’s The Story Behind This Scent?

Phantom is inspired by a night in Paris. It celebrates modern masculinity, self-confidence, and seduction. It’s a fragrance for risk-takers and those who dare to be themselves unapologetically.

You Will Love This If…

If you love warm, vanilla fragrances, you’ll love this interpretation of Phantom. It’s not for the faint-hearted or fresh fragrance lovers – this scent is bold, addictive and very sexy.

This Perfume Smells Similar To:

You can smell the original Phantom in this fragrance, but it’s richer and woodier, and the vanilla is intensified. It’s less earthy than Phantom EDT and not as fresh.

Is Phantom Parfum Unisex?

Don’t let how a fragrance is marketed stop you from wearing whatever fragrance you like. That said, if you’re interested in knowing this, Phantom Parfum isn’t marketed as unisex and men are its target audience.

What’s The Longevity Like?

As it’s a Parfum, it is more long-lasting than the original Eau de Toilette. I could still smell this after 8 hours.

What’s Special About The Bottle?

It’s a robot! The original bottle has had a modern matte makeover for this version – I think it looks a lot more grown up. The reason for the bottle design is to coincide with the scent’s futuristic innovation; the scent is created using AI; what this means is that it works with the neuroscience of your scent receptors to alter how you feel and how you smell.

The bottle design is by Pierre Dinand Design Agency, under the direction of Vincent Thilloy (glass bottle by Pochet du Courval and Heinz Glas). “We are very proud of this achievement. This was a real technical challenge, with its flat shoulders, the need to control glass distribution to avoid brittleness in the most sensitive areas and the quality of the glass surface required for perfect tension after metallization. This was a real technical challenge due to the shape of the bottle,” said Melina Weinmann, Business Development Director for Glass Bottles at Pochet du Courval.

Values?

Phantom Parfum is vegan and contains ethically sourced ingredients. The 150ml size is a refillable bottle and the refill format will reduce your environmental impact by 63% less plastic and 47% less glass
