August is almost over, and as we start to say goodbye to Summer, we wanted to say hello to some of our favourite launches that have recently hit our virtual shelves (and baskets)! We’re always putting the latest new beauty, skincare and fragrance to the test, but some products have caught our eyes so much that we just had to share them with you!
From niche and luxurious fragrances to silky golden oils for the face, hair and body, read on to find out what beauty took our fancy this month with our August monthly favourites…
1. The Brightening Facial Oil

A huge reason why I love this face oil is its smell (which is natural, might I add). It’s a subtly sweet floral, and I find it incredibly relaxing. I’m counting down the minutes until I can apply it again!
The oil itself isn’t too heavy either, so it absorbs quickly, which is perfect for someone like me who jumps into bed immediately after applying my skincare routine. Ingredients wise, it’s for dull/dry skin; fermented Pink Helichrysum and fermented Safflower Oil are the stars of the show, helping to improve radiance and hydration.
The morning after applying this oil, my skin looks like I’ve had a facial, my recommended daily intake of water, and have a healthy balanced diet – the dream!

Every time I spritz, I travel back to Montmartre and Boulevard de Clichy and I relive the spectacle of the senses that is the Moulin Rouge.

I was hooked on The House of Oud Almond Harmony from the first spritz! It’s smooth and creamy, utterly delicious and addictively moreish. I’m obsessed with the way the scent dances between elegant florals and creamy gourmands, bringing together orange blossom, jasmine, ylang-ylang and iris, which collide with the cosy notes of almond, vanilla, tonka bean and musk. Almond and vanilla are truly the stars of the show here; I absolutely adore marzipan and this sweet scent reminds me fondly of this delicious treat. The Eau de Parfum lasts for ages too, leaving a beautifully soft and natural musky-almond tone that lingers on the skin and keeps me going back for another sniff.
And I have to tell you about the bottle; it’s truly like a piece of art adorning my dresser. The beautiful upside-down bottle looks like a ball of vivid lava; the rich tones of gold and scarlet merging together to create something fiery and truly unique. Stood proudly on a weighted golden stand embossed with an elegant golden design, Almond Harmony Eau de Parfum just exudes luxury and opulence.

Since my 20s, I’ve gone through a blue orchid, lotus and santal facial oil phase. As soon as I heard about Calm Essentiel Oil, I was intrigued, and I’m completely taken back by what it’s done for my skin since using it every night.
Firstly, the texture is my favourite out of all of Clarins Facial Oils; it’s thin, slippery and nourishing – my skin soaks up just the right amount.
I knew my skin loved antioxidants, but not this much. Being totally honest, I didn’t expect to see big changes, but my pores have become less visible and my lines have become less prominent – I love a surprise skincare find and this one looks like it’s definitely going to get repurchased.
8. The Effortless Makeup Brush Cleanser

Although I am someone who cleans their makeup brushes, I certainly don’t do it as much as I should. Mainly I would say it’s due to the length of time it can take, not only to wash but to dry them too. With this ISOCLEAN Brush Cleaner, I don’t have to worry about that at all! It transforms this long chore into an effortless task. It’s quick and easy to use, while still ensuring a deep clean on the brush (in literal seconds), and I love that you can use the brushes almost instantly after cleaning. It’s absolutely amazing!

The JPG Scandal collection has to be one of my favourites since their first release in 2017, so as you can imagine, I couldn’t wait to try their latest addition to the line! The alluring sprawled leg bottle just screams Jean Paul Gautier and lives up to the scandalous reputation of the others and of course, the scent is beautiful too. So Scandal! is as if a fresh white floral bouquet has been covered with the juice of a large punnet of sweet raspberries; in other words – it’s delicious! Airing on the fresh floral side with a fruity accent rather than intensely gourmand, the scent balances mouth-wateringly sweet with creamy fresh florals, with a patchouli note that reminds me of a raspberry-washed L’Interdit, which also happens to be one of my signature scents.
